Woohoo! It’s Friday and Chinese New Year! It’s the Year of the Horse, my animal year! How lucky is that?! And it’s the last day of a very long month! Wow! February is short, but boy, we be busy in my class! We’re just finishing up Chinese New Year, then heading into Winter Olympics, 100 Day, and Valentine’s Day! Never a dull moment in a Primary classroom! Today’s card is for this week’s Viva La Verve sketch :) I am more than thrilled to see LOTS of chalkboard in the CHA releases! I am so not done with this trend and don’t think I ever will be (even after retirement! LOL).
Head over to the Viva La Verve sketch blog for all the deets on how YOU could win $100 in Verve bucks! Have a great start to your weekend! ox
Good morning! Yes, you read it correctly! I’m pretty sure this is my first shaker card. I wasn’t going to start making them, but I found this fun heart confetti at Michaels in the packaging aisle and couldn’t resist! PLUS, shaker cards are a great way to use up all that sequins we’ve been collecting since they became “in.” The tricky thing about shaker cards is static electricity! It was hard to “shake” and “tame” these hearts to sit nicely around the stamped sentiment! Sequins training is in order! LOL Have a lovely day! It’s almost Friday! Woohoo!
stamps: Lil Inkers
dies: spellbinders hearts
Good morning! I have a few tags that I had submitted for publication two years ago and finally got around to using them on some cards. This first one was actually published in CARDS February 2012, when they still had a hard copy magazine (still sobbing about them going digital!). Here’s the page…
All I did was slap a doily onto some pretty pink paper and voila, instant sweet Valentine card! I did the same for the tag that wasn’t picked up…
I figure I should come up with a few “sort of masculine” CAS cards before taking my cards into work next week :) Have a great day! Hugs!
Good morning! Just sharing a little card today with that Top Dog Dies Madison Doily I made last month! (see it HERE on this post ) I’ve been waiting for the perfect card to use it on and here it is! I’m using one of my go to layouts that I just love to use with doilies :) I was a busy girl in the studio this past weekend after class on Saturday :) Have a great start to your week! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi again! I just had to make two cards for the Papertrey Ink’s Blog Hop this month! This is card #2 :) I ordered the hearts cover plate and just had to use it before Valentine’s Day. AND I just couldn’t resist tying a big beautiful bow on this one…it’s been awhile! Thanks for stopping by AGAIN! Have a great Saturday!
Good morning! I’m participating in the Papertrey Ink’s January Blog Hop today! It’s all about “Pretty in Pink!” How could I resist? I broke out my heart Confetti Banner Border die and matching stamps. I just love the versatility of these dies and stamps! Perfect for any occasion! Enjoy the hop! I can’t wait to see all the pink!
TGIF everyone! That means it’s my favourite day of the week and there’s a new Viva La Verve sketch up on the Viva La Verve blog! Love is in the air here in the studio so I dug up some older Verve love sets to create a banner-filled card! I’m using Twitterpated and Love’s Flower on today’s card and BOTH sets are on SALE right now in the Verve Store!

Hi friends! Thought I’d share a couple of Valentine’s cards from last year! One has a traditional Valentine palette and the other does not!
I was procrastinating last night and determined to add a "Pin It" button to my images after several Follower requests. I added a "Pin It" widget to my sidebar AND figured out how to put a "Pin It" button on each post image :) I hope it comes in handy! That’s it! Just wanted to say hi! Come back tomorrow for the new Viva La Verve Sketch! Thanks for stopping by!
Hey peeps! Just popping in with a reminder that you have a few more days to make your creations for the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge : Love Letter. I was once again inspired by “letters” and thought this sweet little envelope just had to make it onto my card! Head over to the blog for all the deets and more samples :) Our sponsor this time is Denami Designs.
Hello! Well, it’s happening again! The Festive Friday challenge is up and running again this year with the talented Design Team addition of my dear friend, Lynn! This challenge really helped me get my Christmas card stash in order last year so expect some Christmas cheer here every two weeks :) This year we’re just asked to be inspired! How lovely is that?! Here’s the first photo…
I was inspired by the neutral background with the gorgeous pop of red in the middle. Thanks for stopping by! I’m off to write 2 short papers today. I hope you have a fabulous day :)
Wow! Did this week fly by or what?! It’s TGIF and a new sketch and inspiration photo are up on the new Viva La Verve blog :) I was inspired by the neutral background with the pops of purple and yellow. That fabulous table made me think of stars so I made sure to include a couple of them :)
Head over to the Viva La Verve blog for all the details and some more samples…then head over to the Verve Store and check out the latest sale…it’s all about L-O-V-E!! Have a great start to your weekend!
Good morning! I came home Tuesday and just had to have a little break from work and school before hitting my nightly reading. I watched Dawn McVey’s PTI Make it Monday video and wanted to play along. I didn’t have a good PTI lined image, so I used one from Verve’s Great Friend. I broke out another new stamp…the sentiment from Ruby Red…oh, I love the mix of fonts! A little bling added some sparkle…not quite one layer, but close to it! Thanks for stopping by! I see a Friday just around the corner!
Good morning! Are you in the mood for love? I sure was making this card for the current Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge, Love Letter!
I love love letters! Nothing is sweeter than seeing those words of affection in print that you can read over and over again. This challenge also reminds me of a song that I first heard back in my twenties…Love Letters by Ketty Lester (follow the link to see it on You Tube if the video doesn't show up here!)
I just love it and was singing it as I made my card :)
Love letters straight from your heart, keep us so near while apart.
I’m not alone in the night, when I can have all the love you write.
I memorize every line and I kiss the name that you sign.
And darling then I read again right from the start,
Love letters straight from your heart.
Oh, does that bring back memories! No text or email or tweet could ever give me that feeling of reading a love letter, paper and ink, and knowing that the object of your affection actually “touched” the same paper. Ah, young love!
We have an awesome new sponsor, DeNami Design, who supplied each of the crew gals with a package of love-themed DeNami stamps!
The LEAD of the Love Letter challenge will receive a $20 gift certificate from DeNami Design! Head over to the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge for more details and gorgeous samples from the Design Team!
Hi everyone! Just popping in with another card for the Papertrey Ink’s Make it Monday. I had to unwind after classes yesterday so I headed into the studio, picked a stamp, some paper and one of Dawn McVey’s favourite colour combos :) I also pulled out some old satin ribbon that perfectly matched the colour palette! Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely Sunday :)
TGIF! It’s Friday and the start of my second semester! As much as I’ve enjoyed 4 weeks off from reading and paper writing, I have missed my cohort. PLUS the first class is always easy…no homework due! LOL Today’s card uses the new Viva La Verve sketch designed by Diva Teresa. I broke out some new BoBunny paper and flipped through my Verve stamp binders to find the images I wanted to use. I’m so happy to see the chalkboard look is still around so created another Occasion Frame chalkboard to layer under the Classy Label die. I love looking for other sentiments that can be used instead of the traditional Valentine’s ones. I thought this sentiment form Treasured Words fit that bill! I just love the way it fits perfectly onto the Classy Label shape :)
Did you know that the Viva La Verve challenge has its own blog now? PLUS any card you make all month long is eligible for the monthly grand prize of $100 in Verve GCs! The more you play, the more chances you have! I love it! Head over to the new VLV Blog and check out more samples of this week’s sketch!
