Thinking of You ~ Mojo Monday

Hello!  It's been a relaxing day in the studio and I finally had time to join in with Julee and her Mojo Monday sketch!  In true former Diva form, I've rotated the sketch 45 degrees HA!  I used gold polka dotted washi tape for the 2 small rectangular panels...just love the bit of shimmer it adds.
Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy the rest of your week :)

Joy to the World ~ Mojo is Back!

Hello from the studio!  It's been a great morning here in the studio.  With the time change, I was up early and die cutting some sparkly snowflakes to add to this card.  I was over the moon excited when I saw that Julee had started up the Mojo Monday challenge again.  I HAD to participate, especially in the first one back.  I am sneaking it in just before the deadline :)  Thanks for visiting :)

Beauty for Ashes ~ Mojo Monday

Hi everyone!  I'm back sharing the fruits of my lovely studio day this past weekend.  I'm using this week's Mojo Monday sketch.   In keeping with my goal of making two cards at a time, here's the second version.  My sister is in need of a couple of sympathy cards, hence the sympathy theme.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope your week has started out well :)

Happy New Year ~ Mojo Monday

Happy New Year everyone!  I spent my last day of Christmas vacation cleaning up the studio and making my first card of the year using the Mojo Monday sketch below!  I had this quote from Verve's Potter's Clay ready to go then saw Diva Teresa's GORGEOUS card on the Mojo Monday blog.  I just had to CASE parts of it.  It's a Happy New Year card for a dear friend :)  Thanks for stopping by...hope your year has started out well!

Happy Anniversary ~ Mojo Monday

Hi everyone!  I am playing along with this week's Mojo Monday sketch.  It's contest week (AKA "prize" week) so be sure to head over there and join in the fun!  I stamped the back panel with the floral heart in 4 different pastel colours, then cut the panel into 3 strips.  I wanted to make an Anniversary card with a double sentiment so I pulled out Stronger Love and chose my favourite quote from that set.  You can't have too many hearts on an Anniversary card so I added 2 extra sparkly ones with the help of some white glitter corrugated cardstock and the Heart Quartet Die.  The sentiment on the pennant diecut was looking a little sparse so I inked up the flourish from Peace on Earth.  I literally have this flourish on an acrylic block on my desk (see proof below).  It's one of my goto flourishes.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope your week is going well :)

Verve Diva Inspirations Hop

lotofmerrymaureenplut

Welcome to Verve's December Diva Inspirations Hop. It's the 5th of the month and that means it's hopping time. We love to get our Verve inky around here. So pull up a chair and take a tour of some fun creations using Verve favorites.

On my card today, I’ve used the stitched frame from Treasured Words and my favourite saying from Merry & Bright.  I love the word “Merry.”  I like to use it while describing happy, joyful people :)  The colour palette let me use an old, but fabulous felt snowflake from Stampin’ Up!  Remember those?  It’s also contest week over on the Mojo Monday blog so I’m using this week’s sketch, rotated 90 degrees {wink!}

Now, before you go… we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines.

Happy 6th Anniversary ~ Mojo Monday 305

happyanniversarymaureenplut

Good morning!  Today’s card uses the new Mojo Monday sketch.  Since Mojo is run by Julee of Verve AND it’s Verve’s 6th anniversary this month, I thought it’d be fun to make a Verve Anniversary card complete with Verve stamps and colours! There was no “circle” for a doily so I snuck one in by folding in the sides to look more like a rectangle!  I can get around anything! HA!

Mojo305Sketch

Verve is having a fabulous Anniversary sale and EVERYTHING is on sale right now!  On today’s card, I’ve used Take Note (on sale HERE for 40% off), Calendar Countdown (on sale HERE for 50% off) and the Happy Anniversary Plain Jane ( on sale HERE for 50% off). Thanks so much for stopping by…hope your week is going well so far :)

birthdayblessingsmojo300

This week Mojo Monday is celebrating its 300th sketch by offering 30 prizes for participants! Play along with the Mojo Monday 300 sketch and link it up to the Mojo Monday linky entry form and you’ll be in the drawing for some fabulous papercrafting goodies! For all the details, a list of prizes from over 20 different companies and some fabulous samples using the Mojo 300 sketch head on over to the Mojo Monday blog.

Mojo300Sketch

My card today celebrates another special day as well, Canada Day!  She is 146 years old (or 29 for the 117th time! LOL).  Knowing my card would have a Canadian flare to it, I chose some red patterned paper and mixed it with some sweet little pink heart paper :)  Out came some of that lovely maple leaf ribbon AND some red sequins to work the trend!  A die cut maple leaf took over the green circle of the sketch and the word Canada was stamped from a Canadian post stamp I have.  The On Occasion frame was inked in real red and I used a birthday sentiment from the same set.  I took the little “from”  from the Merry and Bright set and performed a needed “surgery” to get just the right sentiment :)

But wait!  We’re not done celebrating!  Julee has a great promotion going on over at the Verve Store using the coupon code: 300MOJO.  How fabulous is that?

I hope your week is starting out in the best way…now that summer holidays have started here, Mondays are just as loved as Fridays :)  LOL  Thanks for visiting!

November Verve Diva Inspiration Hop

theLordisCome

Welcome to our November Verve Diva Inspirations Hop!  On Friday night, Verve released their holiday collection of stamps and today we're putting on our monthly hop to inspire you with a fresh mix of old and new! So grab a drink and hop along as we share a little Verve with you!

I’ve chosen to give some much needed inky love to two previously released Christmas sets, Richly Blessed and Star of Wonder. Oops!  I just noticed that the “the” is under the ribbon in my photo!  LOL  I was trying so hard to keep the ribbon up for the photo and then didn’t even notice it had fallen down again! I’m blaming those lovely little aqua jingle bells! HA!  I’m using this week’s Mojo Monday sketch.  It’s prize week, so you have lots of chances to win some fabulous Verve!  Can this Monday get any better?  Yes, it can…

…there's another great little prize involved on the Verve Blog too! A random commenter on one of the hops will win our entire new release, so be sure to leave a little love in the comment section as you hop about! You can find out all the prize details over on the Verve Blog today.  Good luck!

Mojo Monday #229 ~ Baby Wishes to Julee & Mark

babyboytwins

I have the honour of being a part of a very special blog hop today :)  If you’ve arrived from Lori Craig's blog, you are right on track.  AND if you haven’t heard, Julee Tilman, the owner and uber talented designer of Verve Stamps, and her husband Mark are expecting identical twin boys on…guess when?  My birthday!! Yes, St. Patty’s Day is the official due date!  However, as we know, babies come when they come but I couldn’t resist adding a little shamrock to my card in hopeful anticipation :)  I also created my own sentiment, one I love, but got to add “4 feet” instead of the usual “2 feet.”  We are using this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and offering Julee and Mark some parenting advice.

mojo229

Hmm, there are many things I wish I could share but here are the ones that I think will be useful right now :)

1) read and sing to your boys every day!

2) let them see your love for each other…it will be the relationship example they will use as young men.

I’m so excited for you, Julee and Mark!!  I know you are anxious, we all were…but you’ll make your way together :)  Now, no salsa dancing or spicy foods as I’m rooting for March 17th {wink!} Next up is Toni Storie's blog!  And if you would like to see the whole hop list, head over to Teresa’s blog!

Love and hugs,
