Have a Fantastic Birthday

fantasticbirthdaymaureenplut

Good morning!  As I was typing up this post, I had to laugh when I realized this sentiment is what I always have!  A Fantastic Birthday.  I feel very blessed to be a St. Patty’s Day baby.  It’s one of those pure fun days where everyone can have a good time!  I wasn’t going to make a card last night, but when I saw this week’s photo on the Runway Inspired Challenge blog, this card jumped into my head.

Kate Spade NY Fall 2013 (style)

Super cute and fun, eh?  Oh, I wish I was in high school again!  I think you can make a direct correlation to what I was inspired by!  I love this big, bold sentiment from the Clearly Besotted Stamps set, It’s Your Birthday

It reminds me of Old Hollywood Glam :)  Thanks for stopping by!  See you later tonight with the new March Muse over on the CASE Study blog!  Happy Hump Day!

Enjoy

enjoymaureenplut

Good morning!  I had some more time to play with the gorgeous sets Stephanie sent me from Clearly Besotted Stamps.  When I saw the inspiration photo over on the Runway Inspiration blog, I thought of these sweet butterfly circles from Flutterby Dreams.  How gorgeous is this dress?

Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 (from style)

I stamped each of the large circle images with Stampin’ Up’s Tangerine Tango, Bordering Blue and Night of Navy.  Then I punched them out with a 1 1/4” punch.  Some more circles were punched with my 1” and 3/4” punches and then I just played with the placement until I saw something I liked :)  A little bling always adds the perfect sumthin’ sumthin’ :)  (that’s what I tell the dh! lol). Have a lovely Sunday :)  Thanks for stopping by :)

Fabulous

fabulous

Good morning! So have I got you all confused yet?  Things seem a little schizophrenic here on the blog lately {grin}.  That’s because I’m trying out different styles.  I’ve been dabbling more in CAS just because I admire the style so.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my layers and embellishments…but I love the design of CAS.  Today’s card is inspired by this week’s Runway Inspired photo…

Carlos Miele Resort 2013 (from style)-2

The swirls of colour reminded me of the shaving cream technique so I used purple and rust inks to make the marbled paper, die cut it into a dress form and then added the other colours in with a resin flower and embossed yellow file die cut.  Thanks for stopping by and come back tonight for another CAS card! Yikes!  Promise a layered goodie after that :)

Desires of Your Heart

desires

Good morning!  I had the most lovely time in the studio yesterday morning!  You know, those mornings where the errands can wait, the coffee is delicious, and your jammies are oh so comfy :)  I saw  this week’s Runway Inspired Challenge a few days ago and immediately thought of this fun patterned paper in my Lilybee Victoria Park pack.  I didn’t think I’d ever use this very busy pattern on a card, but I think it’s perfect peeking out of a negative die cut!  ACK!  One of my first negative die cuts!  I have seen them forever and admire them so much, so here it is, my maiden cut!  I’ve also used the linen impression plate on this, but my sweet little camera can’t pick up fine details like that.  Either way, I think I’ve captured the spirit of a CAS card :)  Have a fabulous Sunday!

The Most Special Thing about this Card

mostspecialthing
Good morning! It’s our Victoria Day holiday here in Canada so I’m having a lazy morning in my jammies in the studio with morning talk shows and coffee!  Can’t wait until the summer when I’ll get to do this every day :)  Some of you know that the dh and I snuck away for a little mini vacation this weekend.  We had a super fun time shopping, tasting wine and enjoying each other.  We were in a neighbouring town with an LSS so, of course, I had to stop by and say hi…it would be rude not to!  They had a nice selection of 6x6 paper pads, ribbon and metal badges along with some fun Memory Box dies.  I couldn’t resist this delicate butterfly!  And used it right away to make today’s card.goodies
I am playing along with the Runway Inspired Challenge.  I focused on the colours in that dress and the center image that reminds me of a butterfly.

Okay, a little more play time then off to the grocery store :)  Thanks for dropping by!

Surprise!

surprise
Good morning!  Well, if today is the same as the last 3 posts, I will have to manually post this when I get up. I seem to be one of the many who is part of a Blogger glitch.  My posts still say “scheduled” in my post list, but do not publish on time (CURSES BLOGGER!).  Anyone else finding this?  I’m still using the old version, not the updated one but still publish my posts through Live Writer.  So now onto today’s card :)  I’ve received a lot of happy mail this week as my online shopping sprees slowly arrive :)  I couldn’t wait to use my new Cosmo Cricket paper that may very well be my new “fav.”  I also got my very first Paper Smooches set and just love the fun fonts :)  So even though this card is inspired by the haute couture Runway Inspiration Challenge photo, it just turned out kind of funky and fun!  I focused on the colours, the gold lame (we called it lam-ay in the 80’s!) and the chevrons.  I have this fun gold wrinkled paper from Michaels and took the opportunity to make another fun Frilly Flower without the matching stamps.
Nanette Lepore Fall 2012 (from style)
So here’s another example of trying out a new challenge!  I so admire the whole Runway Inspiration design team that I know if I hang out there a bit, I’ll learn so much!  Thanks for stopping by :)  One more day until the weekend, woohoo!  Have a fabulous day :)
