When I first saw this stamp set, I knew I wanted to create a watercolour background over white embossed hearts.  Then I started layering different elements (doily, tag, cardboard hearts, and sequins).  Then I chose my favourite sentiment from Just Breathe.  I may have to keep this card for myself! LOL

Happy Monday everyone!  I’ve been slowly finding ways to use up pieces of mixed media I had experimented with last summer, yes, last summer!  My niece saw this pink heart piece and said she liked it so I thought I’d turn it into a bookmark card and send it to her :)  I added a sentiment from PTI’s Life is Beautiful.  Have a great week! Good morning, friends!  I’m just off a busy but fun and productive weekend, both on the home, grad school, and travel fronts.  I knew October, heck November too, would be busy so I saved some Verve Release cards to share at a later date, which is now!  Woohoo!  This one uses the new Psalm 94:18 Plain Jane and Each Day.  Did you take advantage of any of the World Card Making Day sales this weekend?  I’d love to hear what you bought! Choose to Shine

Happy Friday morning everyone!  There’s only 2 more Fridays where you’ll see that phrase until September…yahoo!  Then every day will be Friday (GRIN)!  I’m playing with this week’s Viva La Verve Sketch over on the Verve Forum.  It’s also inspiration week.  I love this picture and had so many ideas swirling around that it was difficult to settle on one. 

I flipped through all my paper pads to get some colours and patterns shown in the picture.  Then I loaded the card up with some extra ribbon, a doily and a little flag on the circle.  I had this sweet little tin flair button that I picked up at Winner/HomeSense a few weeks ago that was begging to be on the card.  I love the pop of red :)  Head over to the Verve Forum to check out more samples from the Divas then join in the fun!  Play all month and you could win $100 worth of Verve Goodies!  Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a fabulous start to the weekend :)

The Plans I Have for You

Good morning!  I was playing in the studio yesterday while watching the Canadian Men’s Curling Team advance to the Gold Medal match later today (fingers crossed!).  A friend is going through the process of figuring out some health issues and I wanted to send her a little love and inspiration :)  I chose some vintage papers I know she will love along with this beautiful sentiment from Verve’s Jeremiah 29:11.  I’m also entering it into the Simon Says Stamp and Show  Anything Goes challenge!  Can’t get easier than that!  I also used my playtime to use Laurie’s Card Hanger die that arrived last week.  I bought a pack of bags at Michaels and put the card on each one of them to see which colour would look best with it.

Blue was the winner this time. I had a piece of the blue gingham dp left over from the card so I used it to make the decorative slot.

Today’s card features one of the uplifting quotes from the new Learning to Sail set.  I have always loved this quote and am so happy to have it in stamp form!  You saw me peek this set last Friday with my bookmark post :)  I’m using a loose interpretation of this week’s Mojo Monday sketch.  I changed out the little square panel a few times until I decided on adding another little side sentiment stamped on balsa wood and die cut with the Charming Oval die.  My Studio Calico Abroad papers give it that mapping/journey/direction feel :)
