Moxie Fab Thanks! Blog Hop

gratefulmaureenplut
Greetings and welcome to my Moxie Fab Thanks blog hop post!  If you’ve just arrived from Shelly’s blog, you are right on track!  Today we are celebrating the amazingly fabulous Cath Edvalson.  This week, Cath let us know that she will be leaving the Moxie Fab World.  ARG!  It’s the end of an era for sure.  Cath has charmed our lives with her kindness, wit and her moxie sense of style!  Her inspiration has been endless.  We have gathered today to honour her.  So Cath, from the bottom of my Canadian heart, I want to send you big hug and my most heartfelt wishes as you start new adventures.  Keep us posted!
I wanted to make a card with a beautiful sentiment.  I couldn’t narrow it to just one, so I added the second inside.

Thanks for stopping by…now head over to Bree’s blog to continue the celebration of Cath!  If you want to start from the beginning, head over to the Moxie Fab World blog.

Every Leaf Speaks Bliss to Me

everyleafmaureenplut

Good (Monday) morning everyone!  Hmm, can we really put “good” and “Monday” together?  LOL  If there is no staff meeting today then we can!  Woohoo!  I have been dying to use my new PTI Mighty Oak stamps and die since they arrived a week ago.  I love all the verses in this set :)  My inspiration comes from the current Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World blog

A Very Fine-Toothed Comb Oct6

I’ve used a bronze metallic paper for the leaves to mimic the ones in the photo AND pulled out some resin flowers as well!  All on a cream background, YUM :)  I hope your Fall has been lovely so far…thanks for visiting!

Celebrating Your Birthday!

celebratingmaureenplut

Good morning!  Well, I’m happy to report that I have my fingers back!  Yes, I got the gel nails taken off yesterday and I’ve doubled my efficiency around the house  :)  If you’re just tuning in, I had gel nails put on 2 1/2 weeks ago for my bonus son’s wedding.  However, life with nails (when you’re not used to them) is not that easy…picking things up off the floor (like adhesive backs, dies, paper), tying ribbon, scratching an itch and even typing!  I miss how beautifully perfect they looked, but I’m sure glad to have them off :)  To celebrate, I thought I’d play along with this week’s Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger: I’m Craving Navy.

Navy Bluesaug18

With all those fabulous navy stripes, you’d thinking I’d have more navy and stripes on my card!  LOL  Nope, I zoomed in on the carpet.  I’m interpreting its pattern as houndstooth :)  Clean and simple, just like the photo with colour in the bottom left corner and more white in the upper half of the layout.  A bit of bling with sequins and a gem makes it festive (IMHO).  Thanks for stopping by!  Are YOU celebrating anything today?  I’d love to hear about it!

Life is Sweet

lifeissweetmaureenplut

Greetings everyone!  I’m thoroughly enjoying my extra long weekend with sunshine, shopping, stamping, reading and watching movies.  Seeing as it is Easter weekend, I thought I should make something Easter-ish as I don’t send out Easter cards.  I took some inspiration from the current Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger …

Pastel Pretties

I threw some pastel coloured cardstock onto my desk and then made a flower out of circles.  I flipped through some stamp sets I hadn’t used for awhile and came to this sentiment.  “Life is Sweet” perfectly reflects how I feel on a sunny day off :)  Thanks so much for stopping by.  What’s making your life sweet today?

Good morning!  I’ve been having a lovely Spring Break so far, doing all the wonderful things during the week that I can never do until summer…breakfast downtown, watching curling, drinking coffee in my jammies.  I’m also stamping in daylight! Oh, I love that!  I thought I should play along with the latest Tuesday Trigger over on Moxie Fab World as it’s Elegant Emerald in honour of St. Patty’s Day and the Pantone colour of the year :)  I have a full roll of this Maya Road emerald rose trim so I have to start using it!  I don’t know what was happening with this card…there seems to be a lot of different styles on it…but I just went with the flow…zen card making if you will :)  LOL Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Hump Day!

I’m Moxie Fab!

bemyvalentinemaureenplut

Good morning friends!  If you visited yesterday, I hinted at a fun announcement here on the blog today.  Cath from Moxie Fab World contacted me last month and asked if I’d like to be a Moxie Fabber of the Week.  It’s one of those questions you say YES to right away…like, “Would you like to leave early from work today?” “Can I top up your coffee?” “Wanna go to Stamp-a-faire and stay with me?” {wink, wink, Lynn!}.  So if you head over to the Moxie Fab World, you’ll see little ol’ me and my thoughts on this hobby I have a great passion for (not to mention some name dropping! ACK!).  Today’s card was me wanting to have something to share along with this announcement.  I’ve been looking for a true non traditional Valentine colour palette (not just adding light blue to pink and red) and I think I found it thanks to Bo Bunny’s Love Letter paper! I’m using 2 of the brand new stamp sets from Clearly Besotted Stamps, Post It: Love designed by my dear Duchess (Aimes Wanford) and Paired Up.

swalk_copyright_large

paired_up_copyright_large

I created a little banner of the sweet postmarks and used a couple of staples to fasten the sentiment tab to the card (that’s for you, Duchess!).  Thanks for visiting!  Have a great start to your week!

A Christmas Thank You

christmasthankyoutrigger

Good morning!  It’s Saturday morning and I’m up early to grab a coffee and head out before the crowds!  I’m sure I’ve told you more than once about how lovely my students’ parents are.  I have lucked out again with such thoughtful and helpful moms and dads.  Last week and this week, I’ve had a mom come in to help with our clay project.  She is so sweet and gentle with the kids and her help was so appreciated by me :)  I thought a special Christmas thank you card was in order :)  I took great inspiration from this week’s Trigger Tuesday over on the Moxie Fab World blog.  Feast your eyes on this delicious picture!

It's Time to Sparkledec16

Gold and silver and white, oh YES!  I’ve used gold embossing on the frame stamp on top of a silver doily to add some shimmer and shine.  And to pour it on more, some gold bells tied with silver cording.  Have a fantabulous day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

‘Tis the Season

tistheseason

Good morning!  I had to have another go at the Tuesday Trigger challenge over on the Moxie Fab World blog this week.  I liked my first card, but it wasn’t really what was in my head.  I really wanted to make a Christmas card with the colours AND use my new Bells and Boughs set that has seen a lot of inky love this week :)  I’ve used the colours and a bit of felt.  I had to use this particular sentiment as the patterned paper has the words to Deck the Halls on it!

Fantasy in Fall

A non traditional colour scheme for Christmas, but I love it!  Have a great day :)

Wonderful

wonderfultrigger

Good morning!  I had a lovely day yesterday contributing to our local economy, cleaning the studio for a guest today, and making a few cards :)  I was really taken with the Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World blog this week.  I love the colours, felt and rustic wood which were all involved in my inspiration.

Yes, you heard right!  I’ve got a dear friend coming over today for lattes and maybe a bit of inking and die cutting!  Hope you have something fun planned too :)

My Home is Wherever You Are

IMG_6079

Good morning!  I’ve got a fun and sweet card to share today based on the Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger this week :)  I was drawn to the houses, colours and diagonal line :)  It made me think of the Memory Box Country Landscape die I picked up last winter but hadn’t used yet.  My diagonal triangles were created with my new PTI bead die.  I don’t think I’ll ever make beads with it, but I sure will use it for a cool graphic effect!

Ooh-la-la!

oohlala

Good morning!  Today’s card is due today over on the Moxie Fab World Blog.  They have been having several fun challenges over there this month in celebration of their Card Creations publication (which, by the way, displays my dear friend, Lynn’s card, Carpe Diem).  I finally remembered to make a card for the Doilies and Lace Challenge and not a moment too late…entries are due tonight at midnight.  I knew I wanted to use some white lace as a border, but kept changing my mind over the patterned paper.  I inked up one of my new Waltzingmouse sentiments and added a few more resin flowers.  Thanks for stopping by!  I’m out at jury selection this morning!  ACK!  It’s been about 15 years since my last time and I was picked…hopefully they’ll think I look unsympathetic this time and let me go :)

Husband and Wife

husbandandwife

Good morning!  Today’s card is very appropriate for my weekend.  See, this husband and wife are on a little mini vacation enjoying some shopping, sunshine and most importantly, each other :)  I had some play time in the studio before we left and the new Play Date colour challenge AND the Moxie Fab World Damask and Brocade challenge were calling to me.  You have to be careful with black and yellow…it can look bumblebee-ish which is fine if you want that look…but I wanted it to look elegant (damask) and funky (polka dots).  Hope that’s how it came out.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you are enjoying some sunshine where you are…if not with the weather, then in your heart :)

Congrats a la Moe-net!

watercolourbutterflies

Good morning!  Well, if Blogger is still having posting problems, this post will go live when I get up!!  LOL  And as you may know, Saturday is my lazy morning day…sleep until 7:00, coffee, blurfing, breakfast, coffee and then my workout :)  I happened to see this week’s Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger photo while on another blog and couldn’t believe I missed it!!  How fabulous is this dress?

Butterfly Reverie

It’s a work of art!! I was inspired by everything!! LOL  I dug out my old SU water colour crayons and did the wet spray technique…mist your stamp, colour haphazardly over the stamp with water colour crayons and then mist again before stamping on water colour paper.  Voila, butterflies a la Moe and Monet :)  I added some embossing on the raised white panel for a little more texture as well as some shimmery buttons and threaded bows.  Have a lovely Saturday…thanks for visiting :)

Friend(s)

vintagefriend

Good morning!  Well, I’ve survived another birthday!!  The day after is always a little sad when my sidebar “Countdown to St. Patrick’s Day” resets itself to 365.  But I’ve got more surprises coming in the mail and am off this week so the celebrating will continue!  Today’s card is inspired by this week’s Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger photo…

Simple Elegance

How delicious is this room?  I was inspired by the colours and pattern and the medallion/doily shape over the fireplace.  Hope your weekend is going well and there are not too many green beer hangovers!! ACK!  If you haven’t seen my Blog Candy post, click HERE to enter!!  Thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday!!  You are all too sweet :)

You’re the Coolest Chick I Know

coolestchick

Good evening!  Still don’t have my normal posting schedule back but I’m not going to fight it, I’m just going to go with the creative flow!  Tonight’s card is inspired by this week’s Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger photo.  It’s been on the back of my mind all week and I finally couldn’t resist all the colours and patterns!

Chiclectic

It’s modern and traditional and I love it!  The headboard reminded me of a fancy frame so I used my new My Favorite Things cameo frame to spotlight my Verve Chick’s Rule sentiment (on sale this month HERE!).  There’s one more day for this week’s trigger…are you playing along?  I got a lot more organized in the studio today while watching Whitney Houston’s funeral.  I thought it was beautiful and loved the music and heartfelt stories.  She was deeply loved and isn’t that what it’s all about?  Sweet dreams,
