Hello There, Birthday Girl

Hello friends!  Today's card is for the February Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  We were asked to create something inspired by this photo...

I focused on the colours, flowers, and leaves.  I hadn't used my Fresh Floral Wrap Ups so I got them out and then looked back to the Release Countdown to get some inspiration from Nichole.  Remember this beauty she created?

Thanks for dropping by!  I can' wait to hop after work and see all your lovely creations :)

Listen ~ New Year's Mantra (finally!)

Greetings friends!  Today's card concept was a long time coming.  You see, each year I think of a little mantra to focus on throughout the year.  No resolutions for this girl, just a mantra to think about when I'm feeling  a little lost or overwhelmed.  However, this year, I struggled to find the right fit.  I wanted "trust the process," or "faith," but when I looked for accompanying quotes with those words, they seemed more negative than uplifting.  So I waited and waited.  I'm not sure how "listen" finally showed up, but it did.  I knew right away I had found this year's mantra, albeit 2 months later. Better late than never, right?  Enter the PTI Make it Monday challenge...now I had the card for my mantra.  I love this quote I found via a Pinterest search then found a free font, Beacon, so I could print it out onto card stock.  I customized my pattern paper by stamping the heart image from Wet Paint in coordinating colours.  LOVE IT!  Here's the before and after...

I want to leave you with some more images for my Mantra (also check out my New Year's Mantra Pinterest board HERE to find the links and original posts).  How about you?  Do you have a "one word" or "mantra" or "resolution"?  I'd love to hear about it!  Thanks for stopping by!

Look Out World ~ Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

Hi everyone!  I'm back with the newest challenge over on the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge blog.  This time we’re inspired by this photo…

I have baby boy on my mind as we wait for the birth of our grandson next month.  I searched "boy cards" on Pinterest and found this sweet idea using punches from Cards by Kate.  I used this perfect sky patterned paper, added some puffy white clouds, and the "Look Out World" sentiment from Verve's To the Moon.

Want to play along?  Head over to the Curtain Call blog for more inspiration and then join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

PTI Anniversary Challenges ~ the last 3!

Hi friends!  Happy Valentine's Day!  I spent the afternoon in the studio creating a bucket of cards for some DT work and the last PTI challenges.  Up first is the Colour Pop Fortune Teller.  I flipped aquamist, spring rain, and blueberry.  I wasn't sure how I wanted to use the colours so I made 2 similar cards varying the different colours.  I think I like this second one best...it's more pleasing to the eye.

This next card is for the Saturday Snail Mail challenge.  We're to make a card and mail it to the hardworking staff in the warehouse who lovingly pack our precious PTI orders :)  I chose to use my favourite go to Canadian layout and added "from Canada"!

Last up is the Paper Crafting Alphabet.  I used 3 letters out of my last name: Pink, Lean your sentiment at an angle, and Tie on some twine.

That's it!  I can start making my shopping list for the release tomorrow.  Sadly, I only have 11 points and have to wait to get 13 more to get that fabulous Anniversary Set.  I spent some of my points lowering my order prices because of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing.  RATS!  Oh, the wait will be worth it...I do love it and all the samples from the DT.  Thanks for visiting!

February Verve Diva Inspirations Hop

It's time for the Verve Divas to bring you our monthly Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop! There are two ways to win Verve prizes: comment on the design team's blog hop posts (linked below) to see their take on the inspiration, then go get inky and link up your take on the challenge to be eligible in our prize drawings! You have until March 5 to link up, so feel free to play as often as you like.

The pop of color in this industrial style loft speaks of the hope of spring in the midst of winter. Kind of like February... it's still cold and wintry, but new life is on the horizon. Feel free to take your inspiration from the photo or the color combo, whatever suits your fancy! We can't wait to see what you create.

It's no lie that my favourite season is Spring.  Not only is my birthday 4 days before Spring or close to Spring Break, but I am a fair weather girl.  Not crazy hot or tepid warm, but that glorious temperature where it's warm enough not to wear a sweater, but cool enough to wear a cute dress and sandals.  My perfect temperature is about 27 degrees Celsius (about 80 degrees F).  I tried to capture this perfect Moe temperature in my card...everything I love...pink, chartreuse, doily, paper clamp, and bling, no sweat! LOL

Challenge deadline: Saturday, March 5.
Prize: $30 gift voucher to the Verve online store!

Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we're giving away a $30 gift voucher to Verve to one random commenter along the hop!

Bundle of Joy

I'm back with a card I've been thinking about all day.  The next PTI anniversary challenge (Sampler Square Challenge) is to use 9 white squares, do something to them, then put them on a card.  I read the instructions carefully (for once!) and nowhere did it say they had to be in a grid pattern.  I really wanted to do something different so I went on Pinterest and found this sweet pinwheel card HERE, complete with a video!

Then I went off to create my own.  I used 8 squares, embossed them, then formed the pinwheel like this.

Then I stamped the last white square with the sentiment and added a sweet blush heart covered in glossy accents for some shine.  Yay!  Another challenge done!  Can't wait for tomorrow's!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Happy Birthday

Here's my last post for the day!  I love the PTI Create Along with Us challenges. We get to choose a card from one of the design teams and create a card inspired by it.  I have fast become a HUGE fan of Kay Miller and her gorgeous bright colours on water colour backgrounds.  Here's the card I had to CASE...you can find it on this POST.

Isn't it amazing!  I can't stop looking at it!  LOL  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope your week is off to a great start!

Birthday Wishes

Hi!  I'm back as promised with the PTI Dress Up Inspiration challenge.  I knew right away that I wanted to make a card inspired by this beautiful top I got a few months ago.  Rosie Posie was still on my desk so I used it for the big blossoms and mint leaves on the shirt.  The black collar is mimicked by the black trim around the French script panel.

Thanks for stopping by!  I sure have been enjoying the challenges and hope I can keep up as I head back to work tomorrow.

Shine Brightly

Hi everyone!  I've had a wonderful holiday Monday reading, working out, and card making!  I caught up on the PTI Anniversary challenges and this card is for the Grab and Go challenge.  In less than 5 minutes, I pulled the 2 blue circles and shine brightly sun die cut out of my scrap pile.  I also had a little piece of gold paper so I die cut the "Shine" out of it.  Easy peasy card and my scrap pile is a little bit smaller! Hooray!  Thanks for stopping by!  I have 2 more cards to share coming up soon!

Warmest Thanks

Hello friends! We have a long weekend here in BC so I spent the first part of today ice fishing with the dh and some family and friends.  We didn't get a bite after an hour so we headed back to the trucks and found the perfect spot for a fire and bbq with some hot toddies.  When we got home, I headed down to the studio to start the PTI anniversary challenges.  Up first was the colour challenge.  I chose Kay's colour palette as it was so bright and full of promises of Spring!

I've been going through my PTI sets, selling some that I don't use anymore and was struggling with Rosie Posie...it's a classic and I hadn't used it for awhile, but now that I've used it, it's back in my "keep" pile! Any sets like that for you?  Thanks for stopping by!
