Good morning!  I needed to make a card for my sister whose birthday is on October 30th.  Since it’s so close to Halloween, I thought she’d like the black and purple colour combo.  She loves Paris so I thought she’d appreciate the blinged out Eiffel Tower.  I’ve use this week’s Waltzingmouse sketch AND am entering this in the CAS-ual Friday Kraft On challenge (although this is not that CAS! lol).  I found this super fun sheer ribbon at Michaels yesterday and just had to find a card for it!  Have a lovely Sunday and thanks for visiting :)

What Does this Card Remind You Of?

IMG_6024

Good morning!  I spent a blissful day in the studio yesterday and had time to participate in one of THE MOST CREATIVE CHALLENGES I’ve seen in a very long time!!  CAS-ual Fridays has brilliantly asked us to create a card based on our Blog Header!  Oh, I love challenges like this!  Obviously we choose our blog headers to reflect what we love so to make a card with elements we love is true creative heaven.

I have several things that I wanted on this card…light aqua for my sidebars, dark aqua grosgrain, simple font style, a silver Stampin’ Up filigree flower (that mark my sidebar headings), a “made in Canada” watermark and, of course, a button and bling :)  This was WAY too fun!  I highly recommend you check out this challenge…I’ve been loving everyone’s take on their blogs :)  BIG KUDDOS to CAS-ual Fridays for this unique and inspiring challenge!  Have a lovely Sunday :)

Thinking of You…

cascloud9
Good morning!  Well, I have to be honest with you all.  This card had me screaming.  It’s not loaded with buttons or bling or ribbon!  It’s basically one layer with 3 die cuts!  Other than the bit of time it took to find the dies and stamp I wanted to use, it took only about 4 minutes to make.  There’s something to be said for CAS.  I hope I pulled it off :)  I’m entering it in the CAS-ual Friday challenge this week that asks us to use something we may see in the sky.  I quickly pulled out my MFT You Move Me set and dies and the memory of me flying to Ohio to visit Lynn last July :)  So that’s me in the little airplane…or maybe it’s Lynn coming to visit me! {wink and HINT!}  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful Monday :)

Hello Sunshine

hellosunshine

Good morning! I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already!  Today’s card is inspired by the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.  This week they want us to use “text.”  I’m in!  I kind of had a card in mind before I started (inspired by this card I made a couple of weeks ago) and I held to that picture minus a few details…after all, it’s a CAS challenge.  And what I’ve learned about CAS is that sometimes it’s more about what you “don’t say” than what you do {wink!}.  Oh, I wanted to add some bling and a butterfly overlapping the negative die cut, but NO!  The only thing I let myself do was emboss the raised layer.  I think the butterfly embossing folder was the perfect choice.  OH, I am loving the PTI Big Favourites stamp sets.  I’ve use every sentiment in this one set I have and plan on getting another one.  LOVE the super size!  Thanks for visiting and make sure to come back tonight for my CASE Study post :)  Hugs!

Many Hands Make Light Work

manyhandsCAS

teehee…especially come this Fall when we MOVE!! lol {just hinting!}  Please do not check the blog header…yes, you are at Buttons and Bling! Once in a while I like to step out of the box, push all the ribbon and embellishments out of the way (no easy feat here in this studio!) and go CAS.  My blog buddies, Lynn and Aimes, are the best at this style so I’m hoping a little of their talent has rubbed off.  There’s a new challenge on Fridays…CAS-ual Fridays and their first challenge is to use “text” on your CAS card.   Now this card almost took me as long to make as one of my more intricate ones.  Every item, though there’s not many, has to be placed just right.  I knew right away that I wanted to use the text stamps that fit the dies for PTI’s Love Lives Here.  I also wanted to get Dawn’s newsprint set inky.  I’ve stamped the middle stamp twice with versamark for a subtle background.  I love the pop of colour on these sweet die shapes.  Of course, I had to add a little bling…it looked fine without it, I just needed a little sumthin’ sumthin’!! So those gems are for me! HA!  Hope you had a lovely weekend.  Thanks so much for visiting :)
