What Does this Card Remind You Of?

IMG_6024

Good morning!  I spent a blissful day in the studio yesterday and had time to participate in one of THE MOST CREATIVE CHALLENGES I’ve seen in a very long time!!  CAS-ual Fridays has brilliantly asked us to create a card based on our Blog Header!  Oh, I love challenges like this!  Obviously we choose our blog headers to reflect what we love so to make a card with elements we love is true creative heaven.

I have several things that I wanted on this card…light aqua for my sidebars, dark aqua grosgrain, simple font style, a silver Stampin’ Up filigree flower (that mark my sidebar headings), a “made in Canada” watermark and, of course, a button and bling :)  This was WAY too fun!  I highly recommend you check out this challenge…I’ve been loving everyone’s take on their blogs :)  BIG KUDDOS to CAS-ual Fridays for this unique and inspiring challenge!  Have a lovely Sunday :)

Happy Birthday to You

IMG_6013

Good morning!  Ah, the lovely weekend is here and it’s a lazy Saturday morning for me which means a second cup of coffee and some playtime in the studio before starting the weekend routine :)  I had time this week to play with the colours from  the ColourQ challenge.  The pillow immediately reminded me of this paper from an old Basicgrey pad I still have.  LOVE those rich Fall colours.  It’s also my MIL’s birthday this weekend so I thought she would like the extra berry bling and sheer ribbon (‘cause I sure do!).  Have a glorious weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

You are in My Thoughts and Prayers

vlvoctweek1

TGIF!  We’re starting a new month of sketches a few days early over on the Viva La Verve Forum.  Diva Amber is leading the way with the first sketch.  I rotated it 90 degrees so I could use this sweet sentiment from Wonderfully Made.  I’ve also added the Flourished Trim to the horizontal panel.  I had to laugh after I finished the card…most of it is covered by the sentiment and ribbon :)

Do you know about the HUGE prize at the end of each month?  Play with all the sketches posted each Friday and YOU”LL be eligible to win a $100 Verve gift certificate!  Check out all the details here on the Viva La Verve Forum.  Then join in!  I hope your weekend is starting out in a fabulous way!  I have a glass of wine  and a handsome husband waiting for me after work…doesn’t get better than that!  Cheers!

Enjoy Life

enjoylife

Good morning!  I thought it was a good time to share another card I made last month for the Verve Anni-VERVE-sary Release.  I do love making little tags that slide out of bags and hope that the recipient eventually will use it as a bookmark. Here’s a peek at it…

Yes, I’ve been enjoying life…just got back from a lovely wedding on Sunday and though I’ve been super busy, I’ve been enjoying the creative side of my teaching job.  What are YOU enjoying today?  Hugs, and thanks for stopping by :)

Feel Better Soon

feelbetter

Good morning!  We got back early from the wedding yesterday so after unpacking, food shopping and laundry, I headed down to the studio to have some fun with this week’s Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge.  When I saw that little tab off the center panel I just HAD to play!  Those little tabs are my go to moves these days :)  I flipped through my WMS binder and picked out a stamp that yearned for some ink :)  Then I picked some more gorgeous Authentique paper to go with my Studio Calico Hey Day paper :)  LOVE how they look together.  And if a big beautiful white satin bow can’t make one feel better, nothing will! LOL

Have a fabulous day!  We are having a Professional Day so I’m looking forward to meeting up with my teacher friends!

Now Join Hands…

nowjoinhands

Good morning!  We are up and at it early today as we travel to our friends’, Darren and Rhonda’s, wedding in a nearby town.  They are actually getting married at the same hotel where we got engaged 6 years ago so there will be many good memories as we make new ones at their wedding!  When I was at Rhonda’s shower last month, I asked her mom what the wedding colours were so I could use them on the wedding card.  They are cranberry red and cream and I added a bit of soft pink as well.  As they are special friends, I added two little silver heart charms to the ribbon treatment.

I’ve always loved this sentiment for wedding cards…just not your typical “Best Wishes on Your Wedding.”  AND, because I love it so much…here’s a rerun of the shower card I made for them.  It’s still one of my favs :)

Make a Wish ~ CASE Study #109

makeawish
Hi everyone!  It’s time for a new challenge over on the CASE Study Blog.  Are you ready for a new week of inspiration from our September Muse, Torico?  Let’s get right to her fun card…are those colours and owls fabulous or what?! ACK!
#109 sept20
I have to laugh as I look back on my card and try to see the inspiration.  You see, I was first drawn to the stripes and cream panel.  So that’s where I started.  Then I had some happy online shopping mail arrive this week so HAD to use some of my new October Afternoon Woodland Park papers.  Oh, this pack is fabulous!  I picked the fun chevrons and a few of the coordinating bits and pieces I also ordered.  Then I went off on a tangent.  LOL  The wood frame is from Studio Calico!  LOVE!  And I love that I’m slowly replenishing my very empty birthday card box!  What do you love about Torico’s card?  We would love for you to tell us and make one!  Head over to the CASE Study blog to see what our fabulous Design Team did, then join in!  See you there!

Friends Until the End ~ Giveaway Part 2!

friends

Good morning!  Welcome to Part 2 of my Bazzill Basics Giveaway!  First up is a fun mix using the Beach House paper from Bazzill.  I love the thickness and feel of this paper…there is a bit of tooth to it AND it’s double sided!  I’ve used a sweet sentiment from the newly released Brighter Days from Verve and made a double bow with some white seam binding.  This white ribbon has been a favourite of mine for awhile now…there is something so fresh and crisp about it.  Next up is a fun card using the Carry On Hostess Set from Stampin’ Up!

keepcalm

After making my own Carry On sentiment with the actual font, I really wanted this set.  I think this is the perfect card for a girlfriend’s (or sister’s) birthday…with a GC tucked in to their favourite store.  I used some more Beach House paper to die cut the doily…love making doilies with patterned paper!

What to win this yummy Beach House Patterned Paper?  Check out the details on my Monday post HERE.  Good luck!! Have a wonderful day :)

Just for You! A Giveaway!

justforyou

Good morning!  It’s Monday and to help make it a little more fun, let’s have a card and a giveaway!  The sweet people over at Bazzill Basics Paper sent me some more yummy paper to play with! This time they gave me their Beach House 6 x 6 paper pad.

It’s chock full of vintage inspired beach papers.  Here I’ve used three different sheets on my card using the Waltzingmouse Stamps sketch this week!  I finally had time to play along again :)  I’ve used some Bazzill Basics Card Shoppe card stock in Sour Lemon as my card base.  LOVE the thickness of their cardstock at a perfect 100 lb weight.  And guess what?  They also sent me a  Beach House pack to give away!!

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I’ll pick a winner next Sunday at 12:00 noon, PST.  Now come back tomorrow for a couple more cards with this delightful paper :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Good morning!  We’re going CAS again today with the help of my bestie Lynn’s Colour Challenge over on the JUGS blog this week :)  I was thinking about it Friday night and these new arrow dies popped into my head.  Seven arrows, seven colours of the rainbow :)  With all those fun arrows pointing this way and that, I thought this Verve sentiment was perfect…just start!  I hope your Sunday is starting out right!  We are having our typical lovely September weather…it’s been glorious here, not too hot and not too cold!  Enjoy!

Love is Long

vlvseptwk3

TGIF everyone!  I’ve been waiting for today all week! LOL  Not because I’m not totally in love with my new class, but because things never run smoothly in September as they do in June.  All I do in September is talk and talk and talk, oh, and talk (and talk and talk).  EVERYTHING needs to be explained from how to print the date to how to sit in front of my rocking chair.  Kind of like Ms Plut boot camp! LOL  However, all this prep work will pay off in a few months when I can stop micro managing my students and have them pretty much self sufficient in our daily routines.  My main goal right now is to keep everyone happy and excited about school and I think I’m accomplishing that :)  I came home dog tired Tuesday night and the only relief (besides a glass of wine) was getting inky.  I had placed the doily and the new Stronger Love set down on my desk as I left the studio last Sunday, knowing that I had at least 2 ideas for Teresa’s Viva La Verve sketch this week.  As my friend, Lynn, said recently, this sentiment is perfect for so many cards, love, anniversary and even sympathy.  I grabbed some lovely Studio Calico papers, the doily on my desk and this sweet little number came out :)  I hope you head over to the Viva la Verve Forum and join in the fun!  Complete all the sketches this month and you could win a $100 gift certificate to the Verve store! Wowwee!  That would totally come in handy with all those fabulous new stamps and dies in the store right now!  Good luck and have an awesome weekend!
