Celebrating Your (29th) Birthday

celebratingbirthday

Good morning!  Today’s totally girlie girlie card was inspired by this week’s Shabby Tea Room photo below.  Oh, I just HAD to play.  My new lace trim was the perfect touch along with some pink seam binding and my last scrap of grey wood paper.  I figure this card would be good to give any friend over the age of 30 {wink!}.

I am loving the wood plank ceiling and chandelier…

Now I really wanted to use this frame die, but wanted some kind of flourish on the top and bottom.  The coordinating stamp was perfect except it was too small for the sentiment I just HAD to use (period!).  So I masked off the frame die so the ends of the stamp would not show…that’s washi tape I’m using so it would peel off easily..

Hello Friend(s)!

butterflies

Hello and good morning, friends!!  Well, it’s back at it today…as much as I love long weekends, it is a tad more difficult to get into the swing of things after having 4 days to pitter patter around :)  Today’s card was so fun to make!!  The challenge over on The Shabby Tea Room this week is to use butterflies…hmmm, I know, not really a challenge!! LOL  I really took the inspiration photo to heart and dug out ALL (except my SU butterfly Bigz Die) of my butterfly punches and dies.  Then I grabbed my patterned paper scrap bags and picked out a rainbow of colours…then I went to town cutting and positioning all these little beauties.  I wanted to keep everything else white…the sentiment panel, the butterfly embossed panel underneath the butterflies and the ribbon.  The final step was to mix the buttons and bling.  Thanks so much for visiting and for all your sweet comments about my PTI blog hop post yesterday :)  Hugs!!

39 and Fabulous!

39fabulous

Good morning!  Today’s card is a fun little number…oh, yes, pun intended! lol  On Wednesday, I was sitting in the staff room eating lunch when I checked the staff birthday list…our secretary’s was the next day!!  So I sat down that night and made this cute little card using colour inspiration from The Shabby Tea Room.  Okay, now I remember why I bought this doily die even though there are a million holes to punch out…you can make them in any colour, even with patterned paper!!  I love that!!  Along with pastel colours, the challenge was to also use stripes.  There they are on the doily!! Too cool :)  Now, our secretary is not quite “39,” but she appreciated the sparkly numbers of a very good year :)  lol  Thanks for visiting!! Have a wonderful Saturday :)

Congratulations

shabbybuttons

EEKK!!!  They finally arrived!!  My February PTI order is finally here!!  Don’t ASK about the LONG story of this…I’m trying to forget it and just enjoy a new found love…the Button Boutique stamp set and dies.  What a perfect set for a button-lover!!  Perfect for all those BIG buttons that you don’t know what to do with :)  My colours are inspired by The Shabby Tea Room’s Spring Colour Challenge.  How beautiful are these eggs in the inspiration photo?

sunday 10th

I thought the buttons mimic the idea of eggs and Basicgrey’s Kioshi paper is the perfect match to ground the card.  Well, it’s late morning and I haven’t even done my workout yet or started the house cleaning…better get onto that!!  Then it’s a big stampfest as I get ready for the new Verve Release coming up…Spotlights start on Tuesday :)  Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for all your sweet comments :)

A Little Bit of You

littlebitofyou

Hey!!  Hello again!  I’m posting a second time quickly as I just stumbled on a new challenge  over on The Shabby Tea Room and it ends today!!  The challenge is to use any 3 embellishments in a row on this bingo card OR use all 9!!!  Well, I couldn’t resist that challenge!!  I made a list last night, put some things down on the desk then went to bed.  I just triple checked and, yep, I have them ALL!!!  I was tempted to use some glitter brads, but I wasn’t sure if all the embellishments had to be separate.  Anyways, I love the blog over there and will definitely be following them :)  Here’s to a newbie!!  Thanks for coming back :)  It’s a beautiful spring morning and I have a bit of time in the studio today before heading back to work tomorrow :)
