Many Thanks ~ Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

thanksmaureenplut

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

We have a new sponsor, Hero Arts, for this challenge!  A randomly selected participant will receive SIX new clear stamp sets from the Hero Arts, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

I have been wanting this chalkboard stamp ever since I saw Lisa S.’s card HERE.  I also have the birthday one!  I LOVE them!  I wanted to do something a little different so I inked up some white paper with turquoise, light blue and bubblegum pink.  Then I inked the stamp in black to create a blackboard written in coloured chalk!  I added a little “hello” from Essential Messages on the sweet tag.  You don’t want to cover up all that fun chalkboard text!

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

Congratulations, Duchess and Mr. Gray!

amyweddingmaureenplut

Many of you may know that Amy, Aimes, or the Duchess (my nickname for her after becoming Stamping Royalty a few years back) got married this past weekend.  I couldn’t wait to make my most favourite wedding card design for her and her handsome groom.  Wishing them all the wonders and excitement of being newlyweds and many years of joy and laughter.  OXOX

A Fabulous Birthday

happybirthdaymaureenplut

We had our very first and snow day on Monday so I had a chance to play along with PTI’s Make it Monday.  I made a snowflake card I posted Monday and this floral one, using my new Friendly Flower set :)  I followed Danielle’s video almost to a “T.”  Thanks for stopping by! My new semester starts today, but once it’s done, my Masters will almost be done!  Woohoo! Have a lovely weekend!

Thanks a Bunch ~ Curtain Call Reminder

thanksabunchmaureenplut

There is still time to join us for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!  You have until January 10th at 8:00 AM CST to be inspired and share your project!

Current challenge details and link-up are HERE.

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!  Our sponsor this time round is…

A randomly selected participant in the Winter Wonder challenge will receive a stamp set of choice from the Altenew shop.

I’m still having fun with my Label Love set!  I used water colours inspired by the photo to create my background. Then I white embossed some snowflakes on top…totally yummy!  Next I dug out my OLD Martha Stewart snowflake punches!  I was so giddy to use something OLD, er, VINTAGE!  HA!  I added some pretty gold sequins to modernize those punch shapes and embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder.

A few of the Curtain Call Crew gals have provided some more inspiration for you so head over to the Curtain Call Inspiration Blog for more yummy samples! Have a great day!

Happy (Snow) Day!!

happydaymaureenplut

Greetings from the studio!  Yes, I should have been at work today, back with my kids trying to get into our daily routine, but NO!!  A snow day was called!  I cannot remember a day as a child or an adult that we ever had a snow day!  Our local TV station said we had one 37 years ago, but I don’t remember it.  I live close to where I work, so I did sneak in when the snow slowed down a bit, but left when there was nothing to do. and good thing as the snow started to come down even heavier!  This is my view today!

We’ve had about 40 cm in a 24 hour period which is close to the 1962 record.  Now I live where there are lots of snowploughs and I have good winter tires, but this was crazy.

So what does a teacher do on a snow day?  I’ve never had one before so I made a pot of coffee, watched the news in front of the fire, then headed into the studio to create a card for the PTI Make it Monday!  We had to dress up a corner of our card so I chose to use snowflakes!  I think that was only fitting!  Thanks for stopping by!  Now off to watch Skyfall!

Celebrate 2015 (with Grace)

2015maureenplut

Good morning!  I’ve had such an enjoyable holiday, but sadly it’s coming to a much too fast end.  I am blessed to have such great holiday time to recharge and enjoy other things besides school and work.  Spending time in the studio always feeds my soul.  This card is one I made to celebrate the new year and start thinking about my New Year’s Mantra.  The word “grace” came to mind right away and it came up a few more times this week so I knew I was on to something.  I did a Pinterest search for some quotes to add to my New Year’s Mantra board found HERE.  I’ve added some of them here below. Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day :)

grace not perfection. Lord, keep me EVER mindful that it's about your work on the cross offered to me as grace and not my work to earn anything.

Just for You ~ Curtain Call Inspiration

Happy New Year everyone!  What better way to start the new year than with a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

I just love this Label Love set!  There are so many sentiments to mix and match and create a one of a kind card.  I chose a traditional black label for my words, but can you imagine these in an array of colours?  Gorgeous!
