Joy ~ Make It Monday

Joymaureenplut

Good evening, friends!  Yes, I’m posting this TONIGHT because I can’t wait until Saturday!  I get like that sometimes when I’ve made something I didn’t think I could do.  And why is it that it’s usually something Melissa Phillips has so effortlessly made?  I’ve been thinking about this PTI Make it Monday challenge all week.  Last night I dug through what teensy tiny fabric scraps I had and was pleasantly surprised at the greens I found.  I wanted my tree to have a vintage feel and the fabrics were perfect!  I even threw in a handwriting one I had (yes, the upside down one that started out the right way until I tied it! HA!).  I was not even going to attempt to change it as didn’t want anything to ruin the roll I was on.  And someone once said to me that “only God is perfect, so it’s okay to leave imperfections on things.”  That’s my story!

There are two special people who could receive this card at Christmas (or I may have to attempt another one so they can both have one!)  Our sweetest secretary or the mom who keeps me on the “biscotti gift list,” even though I taught her son 5 years ago.  Her name is “Joy,” so that would really work out well.  I’ve got time before Christmas to make another one if I feel brave!
Thanks for stopping by!

Clearly Besotted Stamps Release Day!

sweetbabygirlmaureenplut

Hi everyone!  I’m back with my last card for the Clearly Besotted Stamps November Release.  All the stamps and dies are on sale later today (10:00 BST)over in the CBS shop so be sure to go and check everything out!

The brand new set, Petite Plushies, is perfect for baby cards with four sweet little animals in 2 different poses and lots of darling sentiments to customize for any occasion.  I needed some more baby cards so I made both of these at the same time, but with different animals and paper.  I water coloured the plushies with my Zig watercolour brushes, easy peasy for a non colourer!

Clearly Besotted Teaser Time Day 4

sincerethanksmaureenplut

Hey everyone! I’m back with another sneaky peek at one of the new Clearly Besotted Stamp sets to be released tomorrow, November 5th! Merci Beaucoup has two beautiful rose images ready for colouring or painting!  I’m a watercolour amateur, but lucky for me, watercolour is very forgiving and if you go out of the lines, the better! HA! I’m using my go to layout this month: tag, half doily, stitching.  I’ve also added a few scrap elements that were on my desk like those kraft stars and the vellum striped banner.  I was inspired again by Amber’s card HERE.  I just adore her mixed media creations!

Merry Christmas from Canada(take 2)

merrychristmascanadamaureenplut

Greetings!  I’m back with another set of Christmas cards for a colleague.  She saw the set I made HERE for another fellow colleague and wanted her own set for some out of country friends visiting at Christmas.  We made a couple of element changes, but the layout is the same.  I sure love making these :)  That red maple leaf sure jumps out from the white snowflakes and background!  Here’s the complete set…

Now I need to get on to MY Christmas cards!  LOL  I may be making myself a set of these :)  Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Clearly Besotted Teaser Time Day 2

thankyoumaureenplut

Hello friends! I’m back with another sneaky peek at one of the new Clearly Besotted Stamp sets to be released on November 5th! This sweet loopy thank you sentiment is from Sweet Sentiments Plus.  There are eight every occasion sentiments in this set so it’s perfect as a staple in your stamp collection.  It takes me awhile to warm up to Fall so when I do, I want to keep making cards with leaves in browns, oranges, and reds.  I was inspired by Amber’s card HERE and grabbed an embossed leaf scrap of paper I had when I made THIS card a few months ago.  Then I started layering elements to create texture and dimension.  I’m entering this card in the Mixed Media Monthly Challenge: Texture.

Scroll down for my Clearly Besotted Release Post!

fabulousbirthdaymaureenplut

Good morning!  There’s a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge up and this time we’re inspired by this photo…

plushplaid

I was inspired by those gorgeous fall colours AND, of course, the gorgeous plaid!  After I made the card, I noticed that the chair is kind of mimicked by the sentiment tag!  Totally unintentional but totally cool!  Want to play along?  Head over to the Curtain Call blog for more inspiration and then join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Clearly Besotted Teaser Time Day 1

lovepeacejoymaureenplut

Hello friends!  It’s November1st so that means we’re sharing some Clearly Besotted teasers with you as we countdown to the November release on November 5th!  Today I’m sharing something new, that gorgeous background created with Birch Background, and something new last month, Christmas Poinsettia.  I stamped and embossed 3 poinsettias onto vellum, then cut 2 of the poinsettias down to create the layered look.  I wanted to keep most of the card neutral except for the sentiment, so opted for some leaves cut out of SB sleeves!  Keep those sleeves and repurpose them!
