To Love and Be Loved

Good evening!!!  The dh and I will be on the road tomorrow morning for a little overnight trip in a fun city just a couple of hours away :)  Tonight's card was some more playing around with Papertrey Ink, Cosmo Cricket paper and that wonderful Verve stamp :)  Choosing ribbon was fun on this one and that bright green won out :)  I love the light leaf stamp under the sentiment...I've really been inking that Turning a New Leaf lately...so versatile!!  I am itching to use my new Basic Grey paper...I'm hoping some of it will work with this week's Viva La Verve sketch...but playtime will have to wait a couple of days.  Have a lovely and splendid weekend...that's for stopping by :)

You Are Fabulous

Happy almost Friday everyone!!  I feel out of my routine this week...no daily posts...I've been off track a bit because I've been playing around in the studio and not everything is post worthy if you KWIM!! LOL  Tonight's card fills 2 challenges...the new Embellish colour and dimensional challenge and this week's Card Positioning Systems sketch.  This next photo shows the dimension of the card :)  Gotta love foam tape :)  This card really reminds me of this card back in March.  I really love this mod paper :)  Gorgeous colours too...love how the teracotta tile ribbon just pops :)   Hope you have a lovely Friday :)  We are hopefully off for a little romantic getaway tomorrow until Sunday :) Smiles and hugs,

LOL  Wide stitching, distressing, tea dye ink, buttons, sheer ribbon, twine...this is me playing around again with my new Vintage Labels 4 stamp, although you can't really see much of it under the oval panel.  I've doubled the ribbon again and added some "under-tie" (Kristina's new button word!!) buttons with twine.  Almost every edge has been tea dyed:)  Have a lovely day....

Congrats and a New Love

Good morning!!! Well, our second Spring has finally arrived and nothing is better than stamping in a sunny studio :)  Today's card is me just playing around with a new stamp set from Waltzing Mouse.  I had seen the blinkie on other blogs, but never really checked them out until I saw someone use this Vintage Labels 4 Nestie-friendly stamp on the PTI blog hop a month or so ago.  Claire, the owner, is a sweetie and though she was sold out of the set when I first enquired about it, she put me on a waiting list and emailed me when more were in.  I love fabulous Customer Service like this.  She is based in Ireland and has a wonderful Irish blessing set.  Being a St. Patrick's Day baby, how could I resist?  When my stamps came, she had even made a few notes on my invoice comment :)  So sweet :)  Anyways, the nestie friendly stamp I've used today is divine!!! So easy to line up and it inked perfectly first try, no priming or anything :)  She has a few other sets for the nestie labels and it really helps fill the extra white space one finds when the sentiment doesn't fill the whole label.  Of course, on this card, the Congrats didn't fit the oval so I popped it up to overlap.  And YES!!! That's a bit of inking on the edges!!! I think I've finally figured out how to use the PTI tea dye duo :)  Now if I could just get a handle on full label sponging!! LOL  The ribbon is a double ribbon tied with the most gorgeous PTI melon berry button and twine.  I'm on a wide zigzag stitch kick right now...so plan on seeing more of it!!! {wink} What are you hooked on right now?  Thanks for stopping by...have a lovely day :)

Happy Birthday

Good morning!!! And Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there :)  Today's card is for the Viva La Verve challenge over on Splitcoast.  Amber is killing me this week with a fabulous sketch and totally inspiring photos :)  I couldn't choose so I made two cards for two different rooms.  I'll post the second tomorrow :)  This rug is what got me....I had to emboss some leaves from Turning a New Leaf (that's for you, Kristina!! LOL)  I finally got to ink up this Plain Jane "Happy Birthday" that was part of my March win :)  These stamps are truly a dream to stamp with...  I find Versafine onyx a great ink for clear stamps...SU is usually okay, but some colours don't work as well as others...IMHO.  The flower is made out of a Starbucks treat bag!!! I saw this idea on Jen del Muro's blog on my birthday!!  I thought it was such a great idea that I kept a bag in the studio for over a month!! I just kept folding it and folding it until it was just the right size to fit on my PTI blossom die.  I'm not sure how many layers there are, but I'm sure it's over 20!! LOL  The valance in the picture inspired the scallop edge :)  Have a lovely day and see you tomorrow with card #2!!

Let Your Heart Have Wings

Yay!!! It's Friday morning!!! Today's card is for the Card Positioning Systems sketch.  They really give you full freedom with the sketches.  I love that.  I saw something somewhere yesterday...can't remember what it was or where it was...weird, I know...but I do remember the colour combo.  It was kraft and turquoise...yummy!! So this card is based on those colours.  I distressed the edges of the patterned paper and hawaiian shore cardstock then stitched around them.  The black panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug script folder, although you can't tell from the photo.  This lovely ribbon was taken off a card that didn't turn out, despite having this lovely ribbon on it!!  The sentiment inspired me to add the yellow butterfly :)  Have a wonderful day :)

What's in it?
stamps: SU hope happens
Ink: versafine onyx
Paper: PTI kraft, white, black, hawaiian shore; My Mind's Eye bohemia dp; cosmo cricket dp
Accessories: stitching, distressing tool; prima flowers; PTI button and ribbon; linen thread, gemstones, MS butterfly punch
