A Merry Little Christmas

merrylittlechristmasmaureenplut

Good morning! Are you still thrown with my Christmas cards?  I sure am and I even know when they’re coming! LOL  I’m playing with the fine ladies over at Festive Friday again.  This time it’s a colour challenge…very traditional Christmas colours.  So out came my October Afternoon Make it Merry paper and some gold vellum for the ornament.  After die cutting the vellum, I adhered it to some gold cardstock and then embossed it.  I love the pretty texture :)

Red, Green, Gold

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a fabulous Sunday :)

Wowzers! And some Grad Pics!

Good morning!  Popping in with a fun card  I made as the May Guest Designer for i {heart} papers.  I was determined to make a fun background with the Avery Elle All Squared Up set.  I love those hexagons!  The set comes with a few individual hexagons so you can custom colour your grid!  Cool!  The bold sentiment is from CAS-ual  Fridays Exclamations.  No wondering what the sender is feeling on this card!  LOL  I want to thank the wonderful team over at i {heart} papers for letting me hang out and play with so many of their goodies this month.  It’s been an honour and a thrill :)  Head over to their blog AND then the store to see all their great products!
Now, as promised, here are some pictures from my son’s graduation Tuesday…it was a proud moment and got me all teary eyed :)  Here we are at dinner the night before.

Happy Birthday ~ CASE Study #143

happybirthdaymaureenplut

Hey there, friends!  The new challenge over on the CASE Study blog is up and we are sadly saying goodbye to the talented Maile Belles.  We are so excited SO many of you have wanted to play with Maile and us this month.  It’s been one wild ride!  Without further ado…let’s see the last {sniff} inspiration…

may30

I was drawn to the warm colours, the wood elements and the focal point at the bottom of the card.  I knew my new Clearly Besotted Honeycomb dies would be perfect to create a graphic line to ground the sentiment.  Before I cut the hexagons, I adhered small pieces of the patterned paper to some heavier cardstock so the shapes would be nice and strong once I popped them up with foam adhesive.  The sentiment is from the newly released Honeycomb set…don’t you just love that font?  I played around with some different wood hearts before picking this one and then moved it around onto all the different hexagons before deciding on the far right one…it looked best to me :)

Aw, it’s hard to say goodbye to Maile, but she’s on my Blogger List so she’s never far away :)  Make sure you come and play this week!   Head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Good morning!  Today’s card is the one my sister, Cathy, asked me to make for Dayle’s (my future niece in law) bridal shower.  If you saw yesterday’s post, you’ll have seen the one I made to give to her :)  The new Verve Let It Be set is so versatile, full of sentiments that can be used for so many different occasions :)  I picked this one as it reminded me of the Robert Browning poem that starts out…Grow old along with me!  The best is yet to be.  What a wonderful way to live your life, knowing and believing that better things are to come :)

Well, better things have come today…it’s Jake’s graduation day!  Woohoo!  We’ll be traveling back this afternoon after the ceremony.  I’ll be sure to take lots of photos :)  Have a great day!

Hi! Just popping in to share the card I made for my future niece in law.  She had her shower on Saturday :)  Remember this post?  The card my nephew, Jack, made was for Dayle and Kurt.    The shower theme was Paris! That was all I needed to hear before grabbing my Hero Arts Eiffel Tower background stamp AND this French sentiment from Waltzingmouse :)   The string of hearts are cut from some shimmer white cardstock and to add the last bit of sparkle, I added some sequins :)  Can’t wait for the October wedding!
