Someone So Special ~ PTI May Blog Hop

someonespecial

Good morning!  Welcome to my card for the Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop!  Today’s post is an homage to my sweet blog friend, Janelle, who, as many of you know, passed away a couple of weeks ago from brain cancer.  But I am here to celebrate her and my last card to her.  I will be mailing this to her husband and children this weekend.  I want you to notice the music sheet paper I used for the center flower.  It’s some of the paper that Janelle sent me 2 years ago and was the start of our online friendship and mutual admiration of each other’s work.  I made a comment on how much I loved the paper during the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop and she sent me some…then I sent a postcard from Canada to one of her preschool classes…and the rest, they say, is history.  I knew when I made this card, I had to use some of it.  Her random act of kindness, strong faith and love of life are just some of the many beautiful things I will remember about her.  She will never be forgotten.  Thanks so much for visiting and all your lovely comments :)  Enjoy the Hop!

Maureen what a beautiful and heartfelt card. I love your choice of papers, the aged edge on the doily and that gorgeous flower. I never had the opportunity to get to know Janelle, but from what I know of her in the blogging world she was someone special.

Maureen, it is so touching that this is for Janelle's family and uses paper that she gave you! It's a lovely card, shabbily chic and with such a perfect sentiment! Janelle passed away just a couple of days after my mom, and I have been comforted by the hope that they may be friends in Heaven. :-)
