Hey everyone!  Thanks for stopping by as I wish my baby a Happy 25th Birthday!  Yep, he’s a quarter of a century old!  YIKES! What does that make me!? LOL  Masculine cards are tricky, but I think I did okay.  Some stars, some sharp points, embossed diamond plate and a nautical ship’s wheel!  All says “boy!”  I love using this No. ____ years stamp from Papertrey Ink’s Movers and Shakers Sentiments.  You can personalize birthday or anniversary cards so easily!  Here’s a repeat of some of my favourite mom and Jake photos :)

Christmas Cheer

Hi everyone!  I’m in the home stretch of my first semester…only 3 more weeks to go.  Reports are done and going home this Friday and most of my assignments are typed and handed in.  Just two more big ones to work on and some presentation notes for my first Power Point!  Woohoo!  I’m excited about that one!  So with this past weekend’s breather, I got to play a bit in the studio and create a few special Christmas cards.  This one is for our lovely Music teacher.  I am in constant amazement over how she orchestrates over 200 children for a performance!  This special card will go to her after our upcoming Christmas Concert.  I thought this sentiment was most appropriate :)

I’m also playing along with the final Festive Friday challenge!  I’ve participated in 19 challenges so I qualify for their grand prize…BUT, everyone who participates in this final challenge has the chance to win a $20 gift certificate.  I chose to play with their Star Element challenge again!  I’ve die cut some stars out of glitter cardstock and added some sweet little gold star sequins as well.  Hope your week is starting how in the best way :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Tidings of Comfort and Joy

Good morning friends!  I hope your weekend is starting out with a nice cup of coffee and jammies…oh, wait, that is how mine is starting! Woohoo!  No classes this weekend, I’ve got a handle on my assignments at the moment and I’m going to sneak in a bit of fun today with the Annual Christmas House Tour with my sisters.  There might even be a glass of wine at the end!  Sounds like a perfect day before I get back to writing papers :)  A few weeks ago I bought some gorgeous new Pink Paislee paper and thought it would go perfectly with the new Verve stamps released last month.  I found out that the old Stampin’ Up river rock is kind of “goldish” in colour so I stamped those sweet deer in it!  I’m using this week’s Viva La Verve sketch.  We’ve got one more week to go this month so be sure to play each week and get all your creations loaded in the Sketch Champions Thread.  All the details are on the Viva La Verve forum.  Good luck!  Have a fantastic weekend!

Heartfelt Thanks from Canada

Good morning!  Just popping in today with a special card I made last week for my nephew this past summer.  The lucky duck got to go to Ireland with friends!  My sister, his mom, asked if I would make a nice thank you card for him to send to the family who hosted his stay.  At first I was going to make a green Irish kind of card, but then I rethought that and got onto a Canadian theme.  I am using many Waltzingmouse stamps (from Ireland) so I thought that was more than appropriate, although only to me!  LOL  I based this sketch on one I had done a few months ago as I wanted a few sentiments on banners.  I love the maple leaf one!  Here’s the sentiment inside…I did go for an Irish sentiment that I thought was cool…

Peace on Earth

Good morning!  As I was typing this post up yesterday, I loved the coincidence of the word “Peace” on my card and the fact that today is Remembrance Day.  It truly is a word for each day of the year, not just a day in November and a day in December.  I’m playing along with second to last Festive Friday challenge.  This time we were asked to use red, white and aqua….uh, yes, Ma’am!

I was dying to use my newest PTI goodies that arrived on Thursday via my mailing buddy, Lynn :)  Thanks, sweetie!  I couldn’t resist Maile’s font in her ‘Tis the Season Sentiments set along with the new Tag Sale die.  I embossed the tag with a woodgrain folder after die cutting it first.  Doilies, doilies, doilies!  I have a million of them now and need to use them up!  They are like the loaves and the fishes here in the studio! LOL  Oh, aqua jingle bells with candy cane bakers twine, two other things that make my heart swoon!  Thanks for stopping by!  I’m back to report cards now…half way done! Woohoo!

I made this card a few weeks ago after my card stash was depleted at work…not that I’m complaining!  I sold many teacher cards so it was fun to bring out Teachers Count again!  I had just enough Truly, Madly, Deeply ribbon to make one final single bow…oh, how I love this colour!  I also used the flourish from Peace on Earth to frame my sentiment and fill up the empty space on the tag.  This is my go to flourish lately.
