Wishing Peace on Earth and Peace in our teacher/government dispute here in BC. It’s another sad time for public education. I am on a picket line this morning, bright and early. It seems like I am there a little too often over the last 10 years, thanks to our current government. I don’t like to bring up political or sad events here on the blog, but I just needed to share (and vent) where I am this morning. Hopefully common sense and clear thinking reach all those involved in our negotiations. But let’s get on to happy things like this gorgeous inspiration photo from the Festive Friday challenge :)
I was inspired by the neutrals with pop of red and the sweet little reindeers. The layers of my banners remind me of the layers on the photo’s Christmas tree. Hi everyone! Today’s card is a CASE of my CAS card a couple of days ago :) I just loved the layout and graduation elements so I made another one, this time for my nephew, Luke, who graduates today from Civil Engineering (the same as my son last year). I loved personalizing the card with some geometric paper and the year and university…you won’t find this one in a store, not even the UBC bookstore! LOL Big congrats to my nephew! Fingers crossed I’ll be the next one in the family to don a cap and gown :) Thanks for stopping by and helping me celebrate Luke’s great accomplishment.

Hello friends! Welcome to my Papertrey Ink Blog Hop post! This month Nichole is asking us to use melon and aqua on our creations. Oh, what a yummy combination!
I had this graduation card idea in my head and was so happy it translated to paper and ink! I was so excited to get the Wet Paint set and ink up that fabulous thick font! I just wanted a splash of aqua and melon so stamped off my images first before stamping on the die cuts. This card is for a colleague who just completed her Masters and graduates next week. I’ve got a bottle of sparkling wine to go with this card! What an accomplishment and an inspiration! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

Today’s card was created with sentiments and floral images from the new Be Blessed stamp set and the new Petal Points and Sprightly Sprigs dies. The layout of the card is a CASE of this gorgeous card Melissa Phillips made. I just had to make one Verve style! I created the background on the kraft base with the floral images stamped in versamark. Both the floral images in this set and the ones in Button Best can be used with the Petal Points dies! How cool is that?! They look so different, yet they both match the die cuts!

Oh, new Verve! How exciting! Julee has designed some fresh and fun fonts and flowers to satisfy my addiction to both :) I’m using a couple of the new Button Best sentiments to create a little chalkboard sign with the Occasion Frame die and matching On Occasion frame image. I cut each of the Petal Points dies out and stamped the coordinating flowers out adding the cute little centers from the set. I just punched them out with my circle punches…easy peasy!

Hi everyone! Just popping in with a rewind card made last May…it’s been exactly a year since the DH and I went to Boise, Idaho for his friend’s wedding. The bonus part of the trip, though, was meeting Julee, owner of Verve, Mark, her husband, and their two adorable boys.
My how time flies! Next May I’ll be in Spokane at my graduation…fingers crossed! And with that note, back to homework! LOL Speaking of Julee and Verve, there’s a new release right around the corner! Spotlight hops begin bright and early Tuesday morning! See you then!
TGIF everyone! It’s the beginning of our long weekend here in Canada AND the start of my summer semester. They’re taking it “easy” on us and we only have one course packed into 2 months. LOL I’m playing with the brand new Viva La Verve sketch and inspiration photo. I focused on the hearts and stars and neutral palette (with a pop of pink for me!).

I took my inspiration from the banners and chevrons. I love these little banner dies because I can creat sweet little banners with any colour or patterned paper I like.
