Greetings from the studio! Yes, I should have been at work today, back with my kids trying to get into our daily routine, but NO!! A snow day was called! I cannot remember a day as a child or an adult that we ever had a snow day! Our local TV station said we had one 37 years ago, but I don’t remember it. I live close to where I work, so I did sneak in when the snow slowed down a bit, but left when there was nothing to do. and good thing as the snow started to come down even heavier! This is my view today!
We’ve had about 40 cm in a 24 hour period which is close to the 1962 record. Now I live where there are lots of snowploughs and I have good winter tires, but this was crazy.
So what does a teacher do on a snow day? I’ve never had one before so I made a pot of coffee, watched the news in front of the fire, then headed into the studio to create a card for the PTI Make it Monday! We had to dress up a corner of our card so I chose to use snowflakes! I think that was only fitting! Thanks for stopping by! Now off to watch Skyfall!

Beautiful card and view!!
You are making gorgeous tone on tone cards. Love how you rocked the corner! Stay cozy...the views are amazing!
Love this card....tone on tone is very striking! You must live in the same area that I do...snow day in our city and I don't ever remember one being called before!
So wintery beautiful (both the card and the scene)!
Yikes look at that snow!
Beautiful winter card!
So glad you got to enjoy a snow day and found a perfect fill in for your time at home. Your card is so wintry and serene. Very pretty!
Hi, Maureen!!! I just had to pop in to comment on your snow story!!!! As we have snow only on the highest mountains in winter, here in SA, we don't know what it's like to have a 'snow day', but to me and the kids it sounds like great fun!!! How we would love to have such snow here - it looks so wonderful and fairy-tale-like!!!!! Thanks for sharing your photo with us and I hope that you are all warm and cosy in front of the fire!!! I love your snow card - as always so beautiful - I love your work and always enjoy my visits to your blog!!!!!
Have a great day and have a lovely 2015!!!! Best wishes for the new year from sunny SA!!!!
Gorgeous card! I'm loving the tone on tone.
The soft palette is striking! Glad you were able to have some crafty time on your snow day, that photo is gorgeous of the snowy rooftops!

Wow- that is a lot of snow! Lovin' the story that inspired your pretty card.
Maureen, I had to show your 'view' to my husband, just beautiful! We hit 71 today, hate to say it, really wish it would stay cold! Your beautiful snowflake card is a perfect tribute to your 'snow' day.
