Someone So Special

Happy Friday everyone!  I can’t tell you how wonderful it felt to be in the studio this week playing with paper and ink again.  Today’s card uses the new Viva La Verve Sketch.  Sadly, it is a sympathy card for a colleague whose mom passed away this month.  I love Verve’s Forever in our Hearts set for sympathy cards. The sentiments are sweet and simple, perfect for the difficult time around losing a loved one.

Celebrating with You ~ Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hello friends!  I’m finally back with some new cards (no rewinds!).  I’ve created two cards for the Papertrey Ink blog hop today using the Make it Monday challenge :)  I took the colours and patterns from the blog hop photo…

…and created 3 different patterned papers using Daydreamer and Background Basics Retro sets.

Here’s another card I used with the leftover papers from the first card :)  I was really happy the way the floral paper turned out :)  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

Hi dear friends!  For those of you who’ve been around here for awhile, this is my using Ode to Spring post.  It’s my favourite season and I cannot let the day go by without singing “AMEN!” to Spring.  However, there’s been no studio time this week so I thought I’d repost last year’s rewind (hence the double rewind of my post title! LOL).  I should have something new for you next week :)  In the meantime, have a fabulous first day of Spring!

Hi friends!  Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  I can’t believe how quickly it sneaks up on me!  LOL  My days and weeks are still very FULL so while I keep my “eye on the prize” in two months (my Masters), I thought I’d leave you with some of my favourite St. Patrick’s Day cards over the last couple of years.  This first one was on my St. Patrick’s Day post last year :)  And before I leave you, here’s a little Irish Blessing I found on this blog.

Happy Monday everyone!  I’ve got one more week of work before starting my first TWO week Spring Vacation EVER!  My district finally added the extra week by tacking on extra minutes to our day.  We were one of the few districts in our province that did not get 2 weeks.  So you can imagine how excited I am!  So let’s celebrate with chocolate and brand new Verve!  Head over to the Verve store to see the new set, die, and shaker mixes!  They are so yummy!  Have a great start to your week :)

Verve’s New Release Spotlight Hop!

Welcome to Verve's New Release Spotlight Hop! Verve is releasing a brand new set, coordinating word die and a couple of shaker mixes today, and the new goodies are available right now in the Verve store! 

When you’re talking chocolate, you’d better have some yummy browns and milk chocolate colours on your card (just sayin’!).  I’ve used one of the many fun sentiments from the new Chocolate set and die cut the Chocolate Word die out of espresso :)  YUM!  This card would be perfect for our District Technology Coordinator…she’ll always take a chocolate bribe!  I’m also using the new Viva La Verve sketch…check out our weekly challenge over on the VLV blog :)

Oh, I love these colours!  I dug through my stash of paper to find designs inspired by the birthday photo.  I had this birthday sentiment from Small Packages already on the die cut from Cupcake Frame Die Set sitting on my desk waiting for the perfect card :)  I love when that happens!

It’s no secret that this is my favourite time of year :)  It’s almost Spring and almost St. Patrick’s Day, my birthday :)  So when those sweet green shamrocks start appearing, I’m all over it!  I went for a very CAS look, inspired by the photo, then mixed a couple of Verve sets (Lucky You and  Twitterpated) with Papertrey Ink’s Lucky word die.
