Celebrate

celebrate

Good afternoon friends!!  Well, this card makes me want to celebrate!! Celebrate the fact that I’m joining in Stacey’s Curtain Call Colour challenge this week AND celebrate the fact that I didn’t chicken out with mostly white and only hints of the other colours :)  HA!!  I actually told myself not to “wimp out and go BOLD or go home.”  (Which is kind of funny since I’m already home! teehee).  I did allow myself to use my favourite card sketch for a little ease and comfort :)   Some of you may think that I handle bold colours well…thank you for your confidence in me!!  Truth be told, I LOVE bold colours when I get to choose them, but feel breathless when they are given to me.  It’s something that I really want to get better at…hence, I’m participating in Stacey’s challenge.  I tried many different coloured ribbons on this card, but the only perfect ribbon was my new black and white gingham from Pizzazz Aplenty.  I just love the homespun feel of it :)  Well, that it’s for me this afternoon…I’m off to Michaels and Starbucks and then back to the Studio :)  Hope your Sunday is going well too :)  See you tomorrow with a card for Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch :)  Thanks for popping by!!

It's fabulous, my dear! If you need more confidence with bold colors, you just look through my blog until you feel better, okay? ;)

I hear you on the bright/bold colors...there are a ton of color challenges going on right now and I keep staring at several of them...not sure where to start...of course I did run to Archiver's today and picked up a few new goodies...I will be playing tonight after the little ones go to bed! Now, back to your card lol! My favorite part is your colored stitching...a perfect touch to a great design!

I am so glad to see this card b/c I have struggled with this DSP that I have from OA- this is a great use of them.

Good for you for going and being bold :) You made the colours work wonderfully. Love the zigzag blue down the side and the ribbon is darling. Sounds like the perfect day too - Mike's, Starbucks, studio time - I'm jealous LOL! Look forward to seeing your take on Karen's sketch.

What a FUN card, Maureen! I'm glad you didn't "go home" but went BOLD instead! :) Love this.

I'd never have guessed you have ever had any issues with anything - especially bold since you rock those hot pinks like nobody's business =) Lovely work and a perfect sketch choice!

Hi, Maureen! I really like the way you combined the PTI border dies on the left side of your card. Every detail is great... right down to the zigzag stitching, that fabulous ribbon and the rounded corner on the front panel. Hopefully I'll get to catch up on your blog over the weekend. But I decided that the least I could do is comment on a challenge that we both participated in. Have a great weekend!
