Grey {Gray} is the New Black

bemine
Good evening friends!!  I’m a little late posting today as I’ve been a busy little stamper this afternoon and didn’t want to waste a moment of daylight so I left the photos, editing and blogging until after sundown.  My mojo works best in natural light :)  Tonight’s fun card is inspired by the Grey {Gray} is the New Black Challenge in the Moxie Fab World, my fabulous Verve Stamps and my new delicious Echo Park Be Mine paper.  The Moxie Fab blog is a great place to keep up with all the latest trends.  This one has been on for a while and I only noticed it because I’ve been entering their other colour challenges this month.  I’ve always wondered about “grey” and “gray.”  I use both!!  In teaching, I use the “ay” ending because it goes perfectly with the “ay” word family.  Although, I just looked it up and found out that the “grey” is the UK/Canadian spelling and “gray” is the American spelling (AND you can remember this by “E” in England, “A” in America).  As a teacher, I find this extremely interesting!! LOL  I have always loved grey as a neutral and always thought it got a bad reputation being associated with dullness and death.  So, I’ve embraced the grey in my ribbon, heart, sentiment panel, fun dots, French script AND the light grey pattern tissue flower!!  Well, that’s it for me…I’m off to finish the lamb stew that’s been happily cooking on the stove :)  Have a fabulous evening!!

I tend to use grey but it always shows up as a spell check since it is an American spell check. Love how to remember who uses which version of spelling - brilliant :)

Darling "daylight" card ;) I don't mind grey at all (unless it is in my hair or I have to wear it LOL!) and when paired with pink - perfection in my eyes. Lovely card.

I use both too...but when I get going to fast I have been known to do things like say waste when I mean waist...or here when I mean hear! I will remember now that I should use gray now that you gave me that tip!!! Love your card...all the circles make it very fun!

You've done wonders with the "new black"! Gorgeous! I can't wait to get these stamps... they should be arriving any day now ;). Let's hope I'm not too busy to play with them! I will have some good picture books to recommend for reading to your class! ;)

Have a good week! It's going to be a busy one!

It's always gotta be 'grey', Diva! Plus when (eek! - I mean if!) I marry my guy I'll become Mrs Amy Gray! Maybe I should just marry him so I can be a reminder for you ;D
Either way I love both the colour grey, the grey featured on this super sweet and stylish card and of course my guy - Mr Gray! Tee Hee!
And what was I wearing at work today? Yup, grey and green of coruse!
OK enough grey antics from me for one day - I'll leave you in peace :)
Hugs,
Aimes (Wanford, not Gray....yet!)
