Good “Good Friday” morning! Ahhh, the 4 day weekend is here. Time to sit back and relax and maybe do a bit of stamping ;) Today’s card is for the 4th and final Viva La Verve sketch this month. Have you been keeping up? Play all month long and have the chance to win the whole next Verve Release!! ACK!! How fantastic would THAT be? Sweet Diva Shannan is our hostess this month and she brings a very creative sketch that just opens up the mojo floodgates :) I knew right away that I wanted to go the coordinating patterned paper route, but wasn’t sure how to get the “sunburst look.” I remembered seeing something similar on Dawn McVey’s blog…they were diagonals, but the process was similar. I just started layering paper on a scrap piece of cardstock and trimming it on slight angles. Here’s a photo of how I laid out the paper before I turned it over and cut off the excess.
Then I zigzag stitched the papers together and finished the card. The medallion was a little tricky too. With all the busy-ness of the paper, I had to keep the medallion to strong neutrals. I also found that the ribbon even had to be a saturated colour to ground this baby…no pastels here! HA! The sentiment is part of the newest Verve Release. It’s one of the many fabulous sentiments in the Love Deepens set. See it HERE along with the rest of the release on SALE!! AND, Julee has just announced an Easter Sale all weekend on the Faith line stamps!! I hope you have a blessed day…a very special one for me as I remember some history in my faith :) Hugs to you all and thanks so much for visiting :)

Oooh what another fantastic way to dig my way through my DP stash and use some of it! Love the idea of the 'sunburst' strips :)
Have a fabulous Easter, Diva!

I saw this sketch and groaned LOL! I ended up staying up until 1:00 AM working on it and "cheated" with the "sun ray" portion by using a flourish instead.
Busy weekend here with my son and the Grade 5/6 Youth doing a God Rod performance in our church's Easter performance. They did an amazing job at the rehearsal last night - made me cry as he is the lead (it's a wonderfully powerful choreographed group to Arise My Love). Tearing up just thinking about it. SO a busy weekend topped off with 13 over on Monday for dinner - phew. Somewhere in there I need to get M-Day cards done too... At least the sun is shining!! Yeah!!
That sketch looks really hard but you did a fabulous job! Great job using all that coordinating dp! Happy Easter Maureen!
Girl this is STUNNING!! LOVE all the papers you coordinated!
I love how this turned out! The more cards I see, the more I want to try the technique!
