It’s Your Big Day!

celebrate Good morning!  I had to rearrange a few posts this week to fit this challenge in before midnight tonight!  I’m using the colour inspiration from The Play Date Cafe challenge …black, white and a splash of blue.  This lovely Ocean Princess seam binding ribbon is from Memrie Mare over at Etsy.  I love her ribbon, how she packages each bundle AND the sweet little candy or chocolate she adds to each order :)  The ribbon comes scrunched, but sometimes I like it flat.  The only problem?  Our laundry room is on the top floor of the new house (by the bedrooms) and my studio is in the basement.  AND I only need a few minutes of heat. So meet my new ribbon iron!  flatiron

I can’t remember where I saw this, may have been on Kristina Werner’s blog, but this week I looked for a mini flat iron.  Found a Conair one at the grocery store for $20.00 and grabbed it.  Plus it’s red (flashy) and comes with a little heat resistant travel bag.  It worked like a charm ironing this ribbon.  Now, I know I have to be careful so nothing burns, but all I did was slide it through very quickly.  So fun and practical :)  Hope your week is going well.  Only 3.5 more days!  EEK!

You crack me up. Can you imagine me having a ribbon iron with Collin in the craft room? :) He'd love using it.

The touch of blue on this is divine Moe. I love the CAS yet shabby feel of your card!

Great use of the PDC colours - that ribbon is a great pop of colour. Gotta love what appliances you can use in a craft room to ;) Three more sleeps!!

You can't say we aren't inventive as well as creative! I saw that about the flat iron some time ago and I know to whom I owe credit. It is Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace. I picked your card out of all those tiny pictures to look a little closer and I'm glad I did. Fab and Fun!!!

Love that vintage newspaper background and the vertical sentiment. Aren't flat irons great, too? I use one every day and have been known to break it out for particularly wrinkly ribbon!

I love the clean graphic feel of your card. That's a clever tip for ribbon ironing too. I may need to borrow my daughters' straightener sometime. LOL! Have a great week.
