Good morning…gee, with all these posts this week, it’s hard to tell I’m writing reports! LOL Truth be told, I did all I could last night and then had some time left over to play :) I’m using this week’s Waltzingmouse Sketch to make my dad’s Father’s Day card. I’ve been waiting patiently for just this occasion to use this John Wayne quote from Back in the Saddle. My dad is a HUGE John Wayne fan as well as a real cowboy (who lives in town because my mom was a city girl ;) ) Here’s proof…this was taken back in the 90’s on one of our local Cattle Drives. Dad used to love working the Drives. He was definitely in his element. A local photographer took this picture and used it to make some gift cards for local stores.
And he’s still at it. At 80, he still has 2 horses and heads out each morning to feed them. So I think he’ll appreciate the Western theme of this card :) Thanks for stopping by…see you tonight for the new CASE Study :)

He's gonna love it. The star with the cowboy image on it is great :) What a fabulous picture of him too!! We have a friend who just went to Calgary to do a cattle drive as a bucket list thing and was in seventh heaven.

I can never get enough of your Western inspiration, Maureen! I just LOVE what you make with this set, and I was totally channeling YOU this week for my sample card. I kept thinking...what papers and embellishments would Maureen use??! I think I got it right...I picked star die cuts and buttons, yee haw! Love the papers and colors on yours...and the handsome cowboy stamped on the star!

Oh Moe...that picture of your dad is so, so amazing. I'm sure you treasure it. It certainly captures the peace he must feel with the horses. Your card is simply perfect for him.

Maureen, this is such a wonderful card! Your dad is sure to treasure it for always. My hubby too is a huge John Wayne fan, especially when he starred in The Quiet Man...so I'll probably have to buy this set now just for that one stamp!! Kx
