Glorious and Free (Made in Canada)

gloriousandfree

Good morning!  It’s July 1st and that means that all of Canada is having a party.  Our young country is 145 today :)  So I had to dig out my maple leaf ribbon that really only seems appropriate today.  When I saw this week’s Retro Sketch, I thought it would be fun to use it for my Canada Day card and post :)  I was going to make all the sweet little hearts maple leaves, but the ribbon had enough!  LOL I’m using my favourite Stampin’ Up! Canadian set “Glorious and Free.”  I stamped the “Made in Canada” in Going Gray ink, then stamped it off twice before stamping on the paper to make a kind of watermark effect.  I took a little liberty with the sketch so I could make those red side panels, meant to mimic our flag.  Thanks for stopping by!  I’m off to the celebrations downtown…don’t wait up, eh!

Y'know I love that ribbon and that stamp, Diva! Makes my Canadian lovin' heart skip a beat!
Happy Canada day! We've celebrated by having a good dollop of maple syrup on our pancakes tonight - does that count?! Also been watching an amazing documentary about Western Canada - I'm still drooling over the beautiful panoramic shots! Stunning!
Hugs!

Happy Canada Day a day late! Hope you had a fun day. Your card is super, I love how you made the sides red like your flag. We get a day off on Wednesday, and then head to the beach for a family reunion on Saturday. Should be fun! :-)
