Verve's 10th Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hop ~ Release Day!

Welcome back to Day 5 of our Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops!  It's an exciting day as there's new Verve in the store this morning! 4 beautiful new sets and 2 coordinating die sets just released and they're all available to order right now. When I first got the "Cake and Candles" set out, I thought it would be cool to make a background with the stamps as they were on the acetate sheet.  So I turned the whole stamp set over, inked it up with versamark, stamped it onto some sweet blush cardstock, poured white embossing powder on it, then heated it up.  Below is the finished result before I put my card together. (hey, how do you like my new Canada EH? mug?!).  This card was snatched up by my sister as one of her birthday card set selection...I give my sister's a set of 10 cards as birthday presents.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Scripture Medley 5 stamp set. This set includes the re-introduction of the final 2 scripture plain janes, as well as 9 all new scripture verse stamps.

Oh, how I love the verses by John in this new set!  We had two readings from John at my wedding and I just loved them.  I asked our priest if we were going to have any of the Old Testament readings and he said, "no, it's the 21st century and we'll go with the New Testament."  He was a very cool 75 year old priest :) I've always believed that actions speak louder than words so I chose this beautiful verse.  I thought it could be an anniversary or an engagement card so I added the "congrats" to the side tab.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Cake and Candles stamp set, another fusion of old and new. This birthday themed compilation includes some brand new birthday sentiments with a classy modern font pairing, as well as a few re-introductions of previous sentiments and plain janes.

I was just tickled pink (and aqua and purple and green and yellow) when Julee included my favourite birthday greeting into her new birthday set AND even made it the title of the set, "Happy cake and candles."  Honestly, though, I did not make it up.  I heard it somewhere eons ago and just loved it instead of the same ol' "Happy Birthday," (not that there's anything wrong with that sentiment either).  The spell predictor on my iPhone now adds "and candles" whenever I type in "cake." HA!  I made a card with things I love, a water coloured rainbow cut into a doily...perfection in my world!

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Bloom Brighter stamp set and coordinating, Blooming Die Set. A fresh take on the flower from the retired commemorative set Beautiful You, this beautiful encouragement set is perfect for a variety of cardmaking occasions.

For this card, I chose the papers I wanted to use first.  Then I used ink on an acrylic block and my water pen to colour parts of the bloom.  Yes, leaves can be grey when colour coordinating your cards!  I added a few extra sprigs with the old Dreamy Leaves dies so I could frame that gorgesou sentiment :)

Verve's 10th Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hop ~ Day 1

Welcome to our 10th Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops! Verve is celebrating 10 years of bringing stamps to the world with a release of new and classic Verve! For the next few days we'll be shining our creative spotlights on the new Verve sets and dies that will be releasing Monday, August 28. We hope you'll join us as the design team, special Guest Diva Kelly Lunceford, and some fabulous rockstar alumni Divas share their inspirations with the new goodies this week.

Today's feature is on the Little Ones stamp set and coordinating Little Ones Die Set. A fusion of old and new, this baby themed set brings back some of Verve's most popular plain janes, mixed with a few new designs to tie it all together.

Yay!  We're back to celebrate 10 years of amazing Verve goodness!  I was married the same year Julee started Verve so the anniversary is easy to remember!  This first set is a mix of darling old Verve stamps mixed with some cool new ones.  I just couldn't resist making a baby girl card AND a baby boy version.  I used the "special delivery" stamp from the New Beginnings stamp set to help mark the special occasion of a new baby.  I love the way all of Julee's set work so well together.

Wow!  Hi friends! I feel like it's been forever since I posted.  Tuesday's card was a scheduled post because I was in Texas at the beginning of the month visiting my sister.  Seriously, y'all have the BEST shopping in the States!  Between better Amazon (than Canada), Target, fast shipping, and the Outlet malls, I barely made the 50 lb allowance on my checked bag! HA!  But it's good to be back and in the studio playing along with PTI's Create Along with Us.  I was just memorized by Dawn's gorgeous card and was able to recreate it with a bit of tweaking.   Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday ~ Curtain Call Inspiration

I don't have any hibiscus flowers in my stamp stash so I went with my old faithful...Rosie Posie! then I chose some patterned paper that mimicked the photos background. I wasn't sure which way to stamp the flowers, orange onto pink or pink onto orange so I tried both ways.  The card above is orange details on pink and this next one is pink details on orange.
