Hello friends! I am happy to report that I have my new class and they are just the sweetest! I can't wait to really get to know them...that's when the magic happens...when you have a good solid relationship with them. This card has been waiting on my desk all week. I had die cut and stamped the flowers and shapes last Monday, but didn't have the energy to adhere everything together. But this morning, with my coffee, I went back down to the studio and finished it off. This is for the Stock Your Stash Challenge. We are asked to make a Fall/Halloween themed card. Well, I chose Fall colours and will be sending this to a friend with a Fall Birthday :) Now, I have to tell you that this is a very close CASE to this GORGEOUS CARD I've been saving on my Card Pinterest board. If you look at the date, it's from 2014! I saved it because I love the way Tara stamped and stacked the Reverse Confetti flowers. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! Happy Sunday, friends! It's been a lovely morning in the studio creating one of my favourite genres of cards ~ teacher cards! I head back to my classroom tomorrow to start setting up for the new school year that begins on September 7th here in BC. My colours are inspired by the Colour Throw Down challenge. I turned to my trusty apple dies from Spellbinders that I found at HomeSense years ago...it was one of the best finds EVER!! Seriously, $7.99 CAD for these adorable dies!
Hello! I'm back today with a card from the last day on my Online Card Class, Crushing on Cardstock. I love the fall feel of this card. So what did I do to the card stock? I used a floral stencil with gesso on the light grey cardstock to give extra texture and also used glitter card stock for some shine. I had to laugh at my little dew drops. They are from The Robin's Nest back in the day (10 - 15 years ago?). I kept them over the years and they come and go on cards. Apparently, they are back in, maybe they never went away (only I did! lol). Thanks for stopping by! Hope your weekend is going well :)
CASEing ALERT!!
Good day, friends! Today's card is a very close CASE of a lovely card made years ago by the talented Dawn McVey. It was this card that influenced me to buy the PTI heart dies and Delicates dies. I thought of this card during Day 3 of the Crushing on Cardstock class I've been taking this week. So I combined Kristina's technique of painting gold along the heart edges and popping each layer up with foam tape. The rest is all Dawn's inspiration from this gorgeous card :) Have a lovely start to your weekend!
Hello friends! I'm back to share my Day 2 cards from my Crushing on Cardstock Online Card Course. I used 2 of the techniques from class, using different coloured card stock for my waves. I have always loved this sentiment so years ago I printed it out several times on vellum. I've had this last one for AGES and. again, finally found the perfect card.
Up next, I used an old PTI bead die to cut out some beautiful ray shapes. Two rays were embossed (so happy embossing folders are making a comeback! I find them much easier to use than impression plates) and one ray was cut from glitter cardstock. That sweet gold bloom was another scrap waiting on my desk for so long. I am on a roll with these old embellishments!

Hello! I've been busy these last two days with an Online Card Class, Crushing On Cardstock. I thought it would be a great way to ease back into stamping and see what's new and what, hopefully, is still around. Kristina Werner was one of the first bloggers I followed when I first discovered card blogs. She never fails to inspire me with her creativity. We learned how to create background patterns out of pieces of cardstock! It is more labour intensive than I'm used to, but the results are fun as you're never sure how it will turn out until the card is almost done. Here's the second card...
Next up was to emboss cardstock...no problem there! I had some die cut butterflies on my desk for at least a year. They were too pretty to throw away and I'm so glad I had them wait for the perfect card.
The last card is used by layering cardstock cut into heart shapes and tearing down the side. Oh, this reminded me of when I first bought from Stampin' Up! Torn edges were all the rage!
Greetings dear friends! I must say that today's card was SO fun to create. As us card makers know, unused embellishments can get out of hand. At some point, I do throw little bits out (YIKES!) but some I just cannot part with. I was determined to use some up so I grabbed several of them that I thought went together and laid them out. The only thing I had to do was create the embossed polka dot panel and tie the palm leaves together. That Sending My Gratitude ticket was made back when I had that PTI stamp set and I kind of regret selling it years ago. Isn't that always the way? Hope your week has started out well. Here they are together. It has been rather freeing to create using old stamp sets and dies. I really did go a little overboard with supplies back in my heyday of card making! Now, just to keep it real, I do have an order in to Simon Says Stamp as a little treat to myself for creating more again ;)

Hello again! Ahh, it feels so good to say that :) As I've been trying to catch up on the last 2 years of card blogging, I came across the Colour Throwdown Challenge. AND, even though it's still summer for this teacher, I cannot resist making a teacher card! Inspired by the colours and All the fun teacher embellishments, I came up with this card with some "vintage" October Afternoon paper, a Reverse Confetti apple waiting for 2 years for the perfect card, and a sentiment from my beloved and classic Verve Teachers Count retired stamp set.

Greetings and thank you to those of you who stopped by a few days ago to see my first card in what feels like FOREVER! It has been a blissful week looking around and seeing which of my favourite cardmakers are still active and what everyone has been up to! I had to drop in on Jen and Reverse Confetti. I looked up their latest Stock Your Stash challenge and thought it would be fun to create a shaker wedding card. The studio is still fully stocked with all my supplies so sequins and clear plastic panels were not hard to find! LOL.
I've set up my old homemade lightbox, thankful I did not get rid of it (I was considering it!). I tried just using my phone and natural light, but I have not figured it out so I went back to my tried and true photography, lightbox, and paint.net. It was like riding a bike, remembering how to adjust the photo and resize it. Not professional by any means, but just good enough to share :). Thanks for dropping by!
