School is Out!!

Ugh, but not yet!!  LOL  But almost :)  Today's card is a different take on the current Verve Project Parade.  Before summer can really start for me or any teacher , school has to end :)  I was in one of our local dollar stores last week and saw these fun little clips that I see at office stores, but these ones were colourful and $1.00!!  I knew I wanted to make some kind of "school's out"  card...hmmm, but who for?  Then I thought about turning it into a thank-you card for our secretary :)  She is the center and soul of the office and makes everything run smoothly :)  The Verve sentiment from Kindred Spirits was the perfect one to add :)  Is that fun polka dot paper or what?  It's the reason I had to have Basic Grey's Green at Heart...I wish I had a whole pad of it :)  Oh, and another cork flower...love these :)  So my summer officially begins on June 30th...I consider this the New Year's Day of my year, not January 1st :)  Thanks so much for visiting and all your sweet comments...my blog buddies new and old are the best :)

What's in it?

Oh, she is going to love this card! Those glittery letter are too fun! I've never been brave enough to try out those on my cards... I guess I prefer stamping. I used those a ton when I scrapbooked, though. Love that little cork flower, too! One of these days, I am going to have to use cork on a card just to try it out. It always looks so wonderful on your cards. :)

Happy New Year's Eve! 14 days left for me...

Oh I'm so ready for school to be out - but not until July 23rd for us!!!! Now I'm a sucker for stationary, in fact I too have purchased these cute little clips in my local supermarket but hardly used them - you've inspired me to root 'em out and play! As for cork...well the only cork I have is from Wine Bottles ;D

The secretary will love her card; it's fabulous! Yes -- a good secretary is the heart & soul of a school. And, I so agree with you about New Year's Day. I always feel so much more "resolved" on the first day of summer vacation... kinda like I can accomplish any goal I set. :)
