Sunshine!!

Good afternoon!! What a glorious day it has been!!  Breakfast out with my dh, annual flower shopping and planting, AND we finally found a couple more ribbon racks for the studio... more on that later!! LOL  Today's fun, fun, FUN card is for the first June Viva La Verve sketch.  We are walking through kids' rooms this month...hmmm, many years too late for me now, but maybe for some future grandchildren!!  I immediately chose the first inspiration photo, dazzled by the colours!! Hola!!!  Forget a kid's room, I want this room!! LOL  I was inspired, again, by the leaf motif (say that quickly 10 times!) so made my own background paper with 3 different leaf stamps.  I wrote down all the colours I could see in the photo and tried to incorporate them in my card...bright green, hot pink, bubblegum pink, grey, white, yellow, orange...I think I got them all...for sure most of them :)
Here's a close up of the sentiment...and the inspiration photo along with the sketch...

Okay, before I go, I had to include my new ribbon racks...about a year ago, my dh purchased the first rack (left) to house my small, modest ribbon collection...he asked if he should buy me 2 racks, but I assured him I had room to grow!! LOL  Then the ribbon addiction set in! LOL  We tried to get another one, but they don't seem to carry them anymore at Home Depot (at least here in B.C.).  On our way to buy the flowers, we stopped in one more hardware store and found 2 smaller versions made by a different company...but they work!!  I was a happy little ribbon camper rearranging all the ribbon into colour bands and adding the spools that have been sitting in piles for awhile :)  And again, he asked if we should've bought more racks...I assured him I have room to grow...LOL, he he he...okay, that's all...have a wonderful Sunday evening :)

What's in it?
stamps: verve feel the sun, pti turning a new leaf, unity stamps where you belong

That is gorgeous DP! I was ready to ask you where you got it... and you made it! Beautiful! Great job on this inspiration challenge. Love how you incorporated all of the colours and love the yellow touches with the ribbon and the butterfly. Hurray for the ribbon racks!!

LOVE what you've done with the inspiration room and sketch, Maureen! Your self made DP is fabulous :D Great use of all the colours . A fabulously cheery card.

Love the ribbon racks too! I'm jealous. All my ribbon is stored in plastic towers, with it spilling into my standing cupboards. I just may have to take it off the spools so I have room for it all LOL!

Glad to hear you got all your flowers bought and planted. I am so enjoying mine and it's only been a week :D

Hello Sunshine! Beautiful background stamping! Great colours and great take on that inspiration photo. I still can't decide which photo I want to use.

Oh what a card of many, many fabulous colours! So zingy, fresh and fun! I want that room too, but I think my guy would have something to say about that LOL!
LOL about your ribbon racks! Mine are full with NO room to add more so I've resorted to stacking them on the shelf with the hope my guy will realise we need a bigger place to live - tee hee!
Hugs,

P.S I'd love to see more of your studio - maybe even visit in person to play...;D

Your ribbon stash is outstanding!
You've done so much right on this card....I love it! I know what you mean - I know those were kids rooms, but I'd have taken any of them! LOL Fantastic leavy background, too =)
