You are Sunshine

formysoulmaureenplut

Hello friends!  My busy two weeks is almost done but I wanted to share a quick card I made yesterday morning with scraps from my “pile.”  I grabbed some things I thought went well together and just started playing with an arrangement.  It felt good to do that!  Hope your week is starting out well.  My favourite day and season are just around the corner!  Woohoo!  And before I go, I must remind you to check out the SALE over in the Verve Store…some GREAT deals plus some last chance buys for stamps and dies to be retired.  Visit the VERVE STORE HERE.

It's time to ditch the winter blues! Create a card that sings Spring using inspirational quotes, pretty colors and florals or themes that celebrate new life. Whether you draw inspiration from the graphic or blaze your own trail, just show us what spring means to you!
Spring means EVERYTHING to me!  It’s my favourite season :)  Not only does it mean my birthday is close, but it means new buds on the trees, beautiful blossoms, more hours of sunshine AND summer is just around the corner!  In my school this year, it also means teacher retirement!  A colleague is retiring in 5 more days and I thought it only appropriate to send her off with an original handmade card!  She also taught my son many years ago so it was my pleasure to thank her and remind her of all the wonderful years of her career.  Verve’s Teachers Count is the perfect way to do that!  I’ve tucked in some teacher apples with these beautiful Dream Big blossoms.  Instead of leaves, I went for a pop of green polka dots from the new Pastel Polka Dot ribbon collection
Need a little more inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what the other Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines.

Happy Birthday

happybirthdaymaureenplut

TGIF everyone!  I’m not THAT excited about this Friday, though.  It’s report card writing time so I have that on top of homework due next weekend :(  I’m just glad the Olympics is over, however, we now have the Canadian Men’s Curling Championship (the Brier) here in town!  UGH!!  It’s a perfect storm!  Good thing Spring Break is in 2 weeks.  I guess I’ll sleep then!  LOL  Up today is a new sketch over on the Viva La Verve Blog.  Head over there for more samples and all the deets on how you could win $100 in Verve dollars!  Have a great weekend!  Now where are those jelly beans!  LOL

A Very Happy Birthday ~ PTI Blog Hop

averyhappymaureeplut

Hi everyone!   I was tuckered out after the PTI Anniversary challenges but happy to join in to the Blog Hop again this month.  I was a lucky winner last month, wonder if I can do it again this time!  My birthday card stash is coming along and I may be able to switch to baby cards soon!  LOL  I’ve fallen in love with Dawn’s Ruby Rose set and used her May 2013 card for inspiration (see it HERE).  This month, Nichole is asking us to be inspired by Spring…easy enough for me, it’s my favourite season! Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrating Your Birthday

celebratingmaureenplut

Hi everyone!  I’m heading into a crazy busy 2 weeks, so I dug through some pictures of cards I made a few weeks ago :)  This one was for a colleague’s husband.  He turned 60 this month and she wanted a special card for him.  I had that fun ticket on my desk for the longest time, so I was happy to add it to this card.  She loved the “metal” look as she bought her husband a huge tool box!  I love coincidences like that!  Have a great start to your week!
