The Person I’d Like to Become (and some house pix!)

youremindme

Good morning!  Well, today we are fully moved into to my dad’s house.  After all the moving and cleaning, I thought I’d reward myself and make a card! I haven’t done that for a week.  Well, it was interesting.  It took me THREE HOURS to make this card!! LOL  I think I brought too many supplies!! Most are still in boxes and I had to root around for everything.  Then my body kept reaching for things that weren’t there!! LOL  (body memory).  I also discovered that I can’t tie bows standing up! LOL  Seriously, I should have taped myself…it was unbelievable!  Although it’s giving me good insight into the new studio set up!  I love this week’s colours for the colourQ challenge and didn’t want to miss out using them.  This was NOT the card that was in my head, but after one hour of feeling lost, I reverted back to what I know and love.  I picked up the new In Colours from my SU demonstrator and we had to laugh at some of the new colours…we would say Pool Party is a pretty close match to Cool Caribbean, Wisteria is a darker Amethyst, and Limeade is pretty close to Kiwi (which, IMHO, they should keep in the regular line up!)…not that we’re complaining! We love the new colours!! (oops! I just noticed that the colour is bermuda bay, NOT pool party…I seriously have been reading this wrong for 3 days!! ACK!)

Okay, I’ve spent WAY too long on this card!! LOL  Onto some house photos as many of my blog friends have been asking. It was difficult to get any “new” looking photos as the electrical and plumbing don’t stand out…but now we have insulation and drywall…the house is starting to take shape.  I’ll post a few here and put more on the New House page.  First up, the dh posing with the insulated living room walls.

My “pink” studio!  LOL, I’m actually thinking Sahara Sand walls…my ribbon, buttons and paper will be colour enough!

Welcome to my world of cardmaking, Diva! I often take so long when making cards...I argue that the CAS style means you have so many decisions to make about the placement of even the tiniest piece of bling! :)
Well I think this card is fabby no matter how long it took! Those pins on the butterfly are adorable!
Oooooooh the house is coming on a treat! The views from your bedroom are stunning! Oh how I'd love to wake up with those views - it'd definitely inspire me every morning!
Hugs!

I see you've been to Starbucks! I love the butterflies...you are encouraging me to check out MFT! I can see you trying to tie the bow...it's it funny how we prefer to sit or stand...I almost always stand!

I am loving the house pictures..Sahara Sand will be the perfect paint color for your studio! I got inky last night with my fabulous Verve stamps...looks like a tornado went off in my craft room!

Moe--I love the layout on this card and the pins on the butterfly are FAB!! I had to laugh as I read your post--I could totally relate to your "body memory" and searching for things. Now that I have my new craft space set up in our new home, I've been doing the same thing. Jealous of your large studio (and the view!)--my new space is just a nook (check my blog for my post about it a few days ago), but I love it!

Welcome to my world of card making :) Nothing comes easy LOL, but there is usually a very contented sigh when I have the finished product. Love how it turned out - great use of the pins on the butterfly. I'm with your re: sitting to do things.

House is moving right along! Seems like things slow down once the insulation and drywall are up as it's mostly working on the inside is all working on the inside, but at least you can have lock up once the doors and windows are in :) Thanks for the update.

Crossing all my fingers and toes that today is the last day of our water woes. Only one
unexpected issue yesterday (need a new water meter - I say leave it out LOL!) and they got a ton done. Now the final hook up to the water meter and back on to city water.

Sheer genius for those butterfly feelers =) Love the color cobination and that use of white, too. Plus that butterfly itself is a beauty!

House looks like it's coming along...does it come with that hot Italian?! LOL
That walk in closet = dreamy! (and I don't even have a lot of clothes)

A Sahara Sand studio sounds perfect!

I know what you mean girl!!! Sometimes, I get in the craft room and sit and stare, move things around, stare some more… the cycle continues.. It's kinda sad when the end result is a pretty CAS card LOL!!! Your card is AMAZING and well worth any time you may have spent on it - WOW!
Look at the house come along!!! I still am in awe over those views…*drool*

Oh this card is perfect, I take too long to make many of my cards. I think that I just over think them.

The house looks great, I remember building. It gets more and more exciting all the time-especially living with someone else. Hope all is going well.

Sahara Sand is good- we have that color in a couple of our rooms. It is very warm, inviting and neutral.

Ah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who spends obscene amount of time on something that is so small! how can it take hours to compose something for a 6x6 square - come on?! I totally agree with Amy though, CAS takes soooo much longer because each decision is mich more vital as it will stand out more at them end! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Love the little stick pins as antennae for your butterfly - cute!

Aaaaah! How exciting! I bet you can't wait for your new house to be all finished now?! I'm very jealous - we are only refurbishing ours and it has taken waaaay too long (much like my cards!) Yours is coming up out of the ground and I fear already a great deal more habitable than ours!! It's worth the wait, that's what I keep telling myself! We'll both be living in palaces before we know it! :)
