‘Tis the Season

tistheseason

Good morning!  I had to have another go at the Tuesday Trigger challenge over on the Moxie Fab World blog this week.  I liked my first card, but it wasn’t really what was in my head.  I really wanted to make a Christmas card with the colours AND use my new Bells and Boughs set that has seen a lot of inky love this week :)  I’ve used the colours and a bit of felt.  I had to use this particular sentiment as the patterned paper has the words to Deck the Halls on it!

Fantasy in Fall

A non traditional colour scheme for Christmas, but I love it!  Have a great day :)

A Merry Little Christmas

merrylittlechristmas

Good morning!  It was a cozy day at home yesterday, a lazy jammies morning with coffee and television news.  It had snowed throughout the night so it was even more blissful that I didn’t have to go out :)   I leisurely watched Dawn McVey’s Make it Monday video and had time to play with the challenge :)  Dawn showed us how to make a faux pocket card.  I grabbed my Christmas Poinsettia dies and some Autumn Rose felt and went to town!  Then I went into the kitchen to the recycle bin and grabbed my Starbucks Christmas sleeve to cut out some sweet leaves (did this last week as well on THIS CARD).  Here’s the rest of the tag…I made it so the recipient could use it as a bookmark after Christmas :)

Notice the fun sheet music paper?  I took Dawn’s advice a while back and went to our local book and sheet music sale that started this weekend.  I came away with some great Christmas music paper and used some to create the faux pocket.

Yes, those are super tiny silver bells on the ribbon!  I love that they are so small , not bulky at all, but satisfy my addition to jingle bells. As I’ve started saying “I need more Jingle Bells!” (an homage to the SNL skit ;)  Have a lovely day and thanks for visiting :)

Peace, Love and Joy CASE

IMG_6273

Good morning!  I’m just popping in quickly with a sweet little Christmas card.  After working on all my DT projects, I had time to play this weekend.  I wanted to CASE a GORGEOUS card I saw in the PaperCrafts Holiday Cards and More magazine.  The original was by Julia Stainton and is on page 87.  I love her use of burlap and how she made an elegant focal point.  Hope you’ve had a great start to your week!  Thanks so much for visiting :)

Wonderful

wonderfultrigger

Good morning!  I had a lovely day yesterday contributing to our local economy, cleaning the studio for a guest today, and making a few cards :)  I was really taken with the Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World blog this week.  I love the colours, felt and rustic wood which were all involved in my inspiration.

Fantasy in Fall

Yes, you heard right!  I’ve got a dear friend coming over today for lattes and maybe a bit of inking and die cutting!  Hope you have something fun planned too :)

Wonderful Counsellor

vlvnovweek2

Good morning! And (let’s shout it all together…) TGIF!!  And this is no ordinary Friday, it’s the one before a long weekend! So double cheers around!  I’m hosting the Viva La Verve challenge this week with a little sketch I drew up while watching Dancing with the Stars on Monday! HA!  The only scary thing about that is that it is NOT based on a card I’ve made!  I was just thinking of shapes and drew it out on the back of our t.v. channel guide! So there was no test run to see if a pretty card could be made with it.  What do you think?  Here’s the original design that Julee whipped into shape (thanks, Julee!). I took the picture with my iPad! Cool!

I hope you’ll have time to play with us…play all month and you have the chance to win $100 in Verve money! Wouldn’t THAT feel like an early Christmas present?  Have a lovely day :)

Joy to the World ~ CASE Study #116

JoytotheWorldClearlyBesotted

Hello friends! Welcome to another fun week over on the CASE Study Blog!  Let’s get right to the next fabulous inspiration card by this month’s Muse, Angeline Yong. I was inspired by the colours, especially the kraft, the gems and the right sided focal point.

And guess what?  There are prizes this week!  Woohoo!  Stephanie over at Clearly Besotted Stamps is offering up 2 stamp sets to a lucky participant, one of which is the set I’m using today, Merry Little Christmas.  It’s full of cute little images and several little holiday words that can be mixed and matched to create your own unique sentiment in the same colour or different ones.  The small words are perfect for banners or tags :)  Head over to the CASE Study blog for all the details :)

Merry Christmas

MerryChristmas

Hello friends!  Boy, what  a tight election last night!  This Canadian, along with many others, tuned in last night to watch the results (and make a card! ACK!) Today I’m sharing my entry for Jen’s Sketch for You to Try.  I’ve been very diligent at playing all year long so far and now I only have one card left to make (next month!).  I’m using another fun and fancy sentiment from the newly released Merry and Bright set from Verve Stamps.  I love the mix of fonts in this set, especially the “M” and “y.” Too cool! It’s an exciting day in my class…we’re teaming up with one of our Grade 7 classes to talk about the Virtue of Courage and make a bulletin board for Remembrance Day/November.  THEN we’re painting poppies inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe!  Any fun plans your way?  I’d love to hear!  Have a great day :)
