Happy Winter...

...or words you'll rarely hear me speak!! LOL Like Fall, Winter is not my favourite season (but a favourite blog buddy!! LOL to Winter!). I guess I'm spoiled with all four seasons here in Beautiful British Columbia. Oh, I love a good snowfall when all the trees are covered in a lovely white blanket...but then you have to shovel it and drive through it and don ten pounds of clothing and boots before heading out. It's a love/hate relationship. I do love Friday nights in front of the fire when it's snowing out...then I would say, "Happy Winter!" So I strive every year to love winter (and Fall)...and this card helps a lot!! It's for Mercy's sketch this week. I LOVE this sketch!! As soon as I saw it I knew I had to play. It begs for a simple card base with a stunning panel. My new PTI Holiday Cheer paper fit the bill without giving me too much vertigo this time !! LOL The snowflake border punch is the one by EK Success when they called their punches Papercraft last year. The snowflake is made from my new MS Jumbo Himalayan punch put together with a Heidi Swapp ghost flake and the smaller MS snowflake punch. This card makes me smile and {almost} makes me want to shout, "Happy Winter!!"

What's in it?
Stamps: PTI rustic snowflakes
Ink: SU baroque burgundy
Paper: PTI white, raspberry fizz, scarlet jewel; Holiday Cheer dp
Accessories: cuttlebug ef; circle nestabilities; ek success snowflake border punch; MS snowflake punches; Heidi Swapp ghost snowflake; PTI satin ribbon; crystal brad

You're too cute Maureen :D I can fully understand your lack of desire for snow when it comes to all the shovelling and bundling up etc. We get spoiled her on the coast (well, not last year, but usually!).

Love what you've created here! The multiple layered snowflakes are great and I love that border punch. Great job with Mercy's sketch. Hope to be able to get to it soon.

Maureen,
What a beautiful card! I know exactly what you mean about the winter season. I live in upstate New York and we are expecting our first snow/sleet fall next week! AHHH to early! The best invention man created for northerners would have to be the car starter! Nothing beats a chilly morning when you can start the car from inside the house! Right? :)

Great job with the sketch! Really lovely colours for a winter card - makes me feel all warm and toasty!
I too am spoiled with all four seasons, though not the extent you experience them! We get just a scattering of snow in comparison to your monster snow filled winters!
