Your Thoughtfulness ~ Mercy's Tuesday Sketch on Friday!

Yippeeee!! It's Friday!! I think short weeks are harder than regular 5 day ones as you look for Friday all week :) I have a confession...I'm addicted to Mercy's sketches. Try as I might to skip one, I never do...there is something about the clean lines :) I am using some new goodies again...PTI's Autumn Abundance dp and my new maple leaf nestabilities. I live in Canada so I thought it was very appropriate, being our national symbol and all :) I was actually hooked by some gift ideas on Amy's Pickled Paper Designs (along with a 10% discount and free shipping to Canada! Thanks Cropstop!) I really wanted to use my new leaves for the square corners on the sketch. They looked kind of flat so I embossed them with my new Victorian embossing folder (Cropstop again!). I haven't stitched for a while and there was brown thread in my sewing machine so that helped with a bit more texture. Isn't this great patterned paper? A little easier on the eyes than the other PTI paper from a few days ago!! LOL This one is not giving me vertigo :) I didn't have too many stamps to fill the main image so I stamped onto kraft and popped up the sentiment. Two of Grandpa's vintage buttons completed the look. Am I done with Fall yet? Well we had an uncommonly warm day here yesterday...18 degrees (Celsius)! Making cards with these colours makes me hope it sticks around for a few more weeks. Our winters are long enough! Have a fabulous Friday!! Next card up should be for Verve's Project Parade :) Smiles to your part of the world :)

Great use of the maple leaves, the DP is wonderful and the sewing is a great touch. We enjoyed a fabulously warm day too yesterday (16C). It's been an amazing summer and fall, that's for sure! Have a great weekend.

HAHA! I'm right there with you, Maureen! Love your updated photo =)

You did such an amazing job on this sketch...wonderful use of the maple leaves! We've got an 18 deg. day today apparently...I'll believe it when I see it! (And it's because I'm working that it's nice today, I'm sure of it!)

Lovin the dry embossed leaves and the dp. The stitching is a nice added touch. Glad to see you're finding time to use all your goodies. Still need to get together for that "playdate"

I too like your updated profile pic.

A very patriotic and beautiful card! I'm a huge fan of Canada - we visit just about every year! It's your Maple Syrup and Pancakes that lure us I think!
Anyways, I ADORE those colours (autumn being my fave season of course!) and I love the stitching - it adds that special something along with the buttons!
