Good morning! Today's card was made for the Viva La Verve sketch that came out last weekend. I have always wanted to make a layered shimmery flower like Julee and many of the Divas have made over at Verve. The only problem is I am not a cutter. I find it tedious, requiring a lot of patience, much like colouring (hence you don't see a lot of that here either! LOL). But I love the look of these layered blossoms so I went for it. I also added some prisma glitter to the second layer...the colour inspiration is from this photo...
I love the splash of aqua on the woman's sweater...my card has more than a splash but I so wanted to use the aqua ribbon...yummy!! The "thanks" sentiment was my free stamp that Julee adds to her orders...every order has a different stamp...how sweet is that? I just love that personal touch :) Yay! Tomorrow is Friday and I have a date night lined up with my Valentine :) Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping by :)

Can you believe I totally missed the turquoise sweater and focused on the itty bitty red flowers in the wreath! Conclusion: You are a turquoise girl and I'm a red girl LOL!
Well done on the flower!! I'm with you re: the cutting out and colouring. Great pops of chocoalte and you've framed the flower wonderfully with that nestie shape (i't on my hit list).
Love the concept of your "torch" relay at school - how fun. I'm still suffering from my early rise a few days ago - can you tell I am not a morning person and need my sleep LOL!

Hubby and I were joking that if you wanted to go out on Valentine's Day in Vancouver you would have had to book your reservation a year ago because you have the Olympics, Valentine's Day AND Chinese New Year all happening on the 14th. Restaurants will be happy anyway :D

I'm so glad you took the time to cut out that flower! It looks fabulous! Though, I am right there with you on the loathing cutting things out area. I usually avoid cutting by hand, hehe. But sometimes it is necessary to make something really "pop."

I'm away from my stamps once again. I ended up driving up to my parent's house for the long weekend (I have tomorrow and Monday off, yay!). So, I will rely on you to keep going with the PTI challenges for me. ;)
