Christmas in the Air ~ Karen's Sweet Sketch

Well it's hump day!! And it's 3 more days until vacation!! Today we are making graham cracker gingerbread houses in class...always a favourite! If my dh doesn't have to work, he'll be joining us as well :) The kids love when he visits :) Today's card for Karen's sweet Sunday challenge feels very homey and country to me :) I have loved this Cosmo Cricket paper and sad to say it's almost gone :( Ah, but it's brought me great pleasure! I went with some bold stitching today (how'd I do, Melisa?!). I wanted to put something else in the bottom left corner of the sentiment panel, but not sure what it should be...a snowflake or button would've taken away from the 3 buttons below...hmm, any ideas? It needs some kind of texture. I think this will go to my quilting friend :) Have a wonderful Wednesday... :)

What's in it?
Stamps: Verve Christmas in the Air
Ink: SU choc chip
Paper: PTI vintage cream, ocean tides, kraft, SU choc chip; Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly
Accessories: PTI buttons and ribbon; stitching, SU linen thread and felt flurry

I agree with you, that DP is fun :D Well done with the bold stitching. Didn't really notice the space on the sentiment panel until you mentioned it. Now you've got me pondering the space at the bottom LOL! Only thing I can think of is sliding the bow down a tad (even though I know you have it nicely centered on that panel) or having the bow facing horizontally to fill more space? About all my morning brain can come up with. Have a great time making graham cracker houses! I always enjoyed it when my kids made them at school and it is so much fun seeing each child's personality come out in their house.

Fabulous stitching (not that you asked me!) and such a wonderful country feel to this card. You did this up beautifully, Maureen! The colors are GORGEOUS!

I think that your bow on this card could quite possibly be the most perfect bow ever! LOVE it! And it's even yummier in Ocean Tides. Such a pretty color. I love what you did with Karen's sketch this week! I'm definitely going to have to play with this one, even if it is a little late.

I hope the gingerbread houses turned out well! We made those my first year of teaching, in third grade. It was so much fun and I loved the unique ways each child decorated their house. We didn't brave anything that big in my first grade room this year, hehe. We had a big Halloween party and a Thanksgiving Friendship Feast, so we kept our mini holiday party pretty low-key today. A treat, some fruit, a drink, and a snowball fight (with paper, of course). Tomorrow is the day I'm really looking forward to. Other than a spelling test in the morning, we're having a pajama day, drinking hot chocolate, and watching the Polar Express all day. We have an assembly in the morning, the 5th grades' state float parade, reading buddies, and drama thrown in the middle. We'll only be in our classroom for about an hour and one half tomorrow. Woohoo! Movie time!

Enjoy your last day before vacation!

You have conquered that stitching!!! It looks great - perfect even without something in the bottom left!!

OH how sweet that your DH gets to come to work with you! I would love Chris to visit work with me, the kids always ask about him!
Ah time to say goodbye to the DP but you've done it proud with the amazing cards you've created with it! I guess you could ask Santa for some more....or maybe treat yourself to a new DP!
Your card is fab - you've got my mind ticking about the left corner...it looks fab as it but I see exactly what you mean! I'll have to get back to you on that one!
Hope you have a fab last day (it's Friday today btw!) We've just finished for Christmas - FINALLY!
Hugs,
Aimes

Gorgeous! The stitching is amazing and I think the sentiment panel looks fantastic just the way it is - the snowflake and bow balance each other out so nicely. Beautiful job!
