Thanks ~ Embellish Challenge

Can I tell you how weird it felt to make a Fall card? LOL I was wondering why I felt so strange digging through to find rust, olive green and brown!! What no pink? No aqua? No snowflake? ACK!! I wasn't going to do this challenge as my whole focus nowadays is Christmas cards...but it kept nagging at me so here it is. I originally wanted to make a leaf shaped card, but that didn't work out so here is the next best thing...a leaf wreath! Try saying that quickly 5 times!! Inspired by my button wreaths last month, here is the Fall version :) I added the kraft panel to cut down on the cream and added some embossing and stitching for visual interest. Linen thread seemed more appropriate than ribbon for this "earthy" card as well as a simple sentiment of "thanks." I love that little stamp that Julee included in my Verve order a few months ago :D Tomorrow is Christmas concert day!! We survived the Dress Rehearsal and my little monkeys were wonderful!! Now to keep them busy until the break starts next Friday. Imagine throwing a 6 hour birthday party for 21 kids each day...that's how someone once described teaching primary children...that's pretty accurate, especially around Christmas. Ah, but they are so cute and I wouldn't trade them :) Have a glorious day...Friday is just around the corner!!

What's in it?
Stamps: Verve
Ink: SU choc chip
Paper: PTI vintage cream, kraft, SU kiwi kiss, choc chip, really rust
Accessories: cuttlebug ef, stitching, grandpa's vintage button, linen thread, maple leaf nestabilities

A truly beautiful fall card, this one makes me long for September again =) Oh well. I guess this way, we're closer to spring than we would be if it was fall =) Gorgeous stitching and an amazing little leaf wreath, Maureen!

I just love these colours and you have made a fabulous leaf wreath (I just had to try saying it five times in a row LOL). The stitching is a fabulous touch and I love the button with the twine. Great job!!!

I hear you re: the kids getting loopy this time of year. The ones I watch before and after school have energy to BURN! If only I could put that into my body, oh the things I could get done LOL! Love the six hour party description. Hang in there, only six more days to go :D

Ha! It did feel a little strange to be on your blog and see a fall-themed card, lol. But it still looks great! Love the leaf wreath... I'm going to have to try out some of these customs wreaths one of these days.

LOVE the comparisson of the last few days of school to a never-ending birthday party! It's so true! How many crafts can I cram into two week?! Only six days left!
