Hope This Year is Your Best One Yet!

Good evening, everyone!! I'm frantically posting this as we just got home from seeing Avatar (finally!!) and I'm recovering from a bit of nausea...from the movie!! Either I didn't eat enough before we went or the special 3D effects were a little too special. I think I had my eyes closed for 1/3 of the movie!! EEK!! All I could think of was "I wish I had a popsicle!" And now we are getting ready to go to one of our favourite restaurants for dinner...a late dinner as that's all we could get for reservations on the Saturday night before Valentines :) But I digress again...this card is for the Papertrey Ink embellishment challenge. I think it's the last one and I don't know about any of you PTI fans, but I'm exhausted!! This challenge was a fun one, make a sheet of floral embellishments and use one on a card. Well, I snuck a butterfly on there too as they go hand in hand with flowers :) Got a new large dotted scallop border punch yesterday and tonight was the maiden punch:) As well, I thought I would try my favourite Background Basics Retro stamp on a diagonal...love the different visual texture it gives. Okay, I'm outta here!! Oh, and how about our Olympics? I keep forgetting that every country is cheering for their OWN team and not necessarily Canada!! LOL I loved the Opening Ceremoniey for the most part, although they could've toned down the new version of O Canada. k.d. lang did a fabulous job of Hallelujah and I loved the man who spoke about our identity :) Those were the two highlights for me :) Oh, and Mrs. Fox carrying the flag and Rick Hansen as one of the torch bearers (although, for me, he should've been the one to light the cauldron). But I digress again!! Have a wonderful night and we'll catch up more about the Olympics in the next few days :)

There you go with your pops of turquoise again :D Looks fabulous with this colour. Great flower and card :D Well done on smoking through the PTI challenges!

I loved the opening ceremonies but agree with you that they butchered O Canada! My word people, save it for some other occasion, but not when we HOST the Olympics!! KD Lang was phenomenal - was humming that song well into the night :D LOVED the speech on our identity!! He hit the nail on the head (DH told me they found him on YouTube and contacted him!), Some of the visuals with the changing seasons were fabulous and what a great group to carry the flag and deal with the lighting of the torch - such a shame the one arm didn't want to cooperate.... Will be interesting to see what they do for the closing ceremonies. Can't wait to be able to head down town to check out the outdoor torch and catch a bit of the atmosphere. Needless to say, I'm an Olympic junkie so many things will not get done over the next two weeks - maybe even cards -- gasp LOL!

Beautiful card love your embellishments. Which I had had more PTI to work with but wanted to get rid of some felt fusion instead. Got to use it up.

Loved the ceremonies! Loved all of the music. I don't think I had one complaint against it. The music was wonderful although they are missing a bit of it on the soundtrack.

Scratch the part of not having a complaint. I too thought Rick Hansen should have lit the torch! I was so excited and our family cheered as we saw him entering BC Place but was soon disappointed that he wouldn't finish it.

Well it'd be rude to not feature a buttefly embellishment right?! They look fabulous! Your card is super too, I love the simple layout it's so effective and I'm forever drooling over your bows!
Avatar was great but I needed to pee half way through and it's a LONG film to hold through LOL! I've never left the screen so fast!
