It's Just Like You to be So Nice!

Happy, happy Friday, sweet friends!! Yahoo! It's my favourite day of the week and the Olympics start today :) No, I am not travelling to Vancouver (although it's only 3.5 hours away). The best seat in the house is my couch with my sweetie or at my sister's with the big screen and PVR (Canadian version of TiVo). Today's card is inspired by this post over at A Creative Mint. You must go there and check out the inspiration pages...and drool!! I love this colour combo and thought it would work well for Mercy's sketch this week. I finally got to make one of those paper blossoms that have been all the rage. It's fun, but very bulky...so this is the kind of card you hand deliver or put in a bubble envelope. I also wanted to use some new stamps from PTI's Big and Bold. Have a lovely day :)

What's in it?
Stamps: PTI big and bold
Ink: SU baroque burgundy, choc chip
Paper: PTI vintage cream, scarlet jewel, guidelines, autumn abundance and polka dot dp; SU pumpkin pie
Accessories: stitching, Michaels grosgrain, button, twine, SU scallop circle punch; nestabilities Labels 4,

What a gorgeous floral arrangement. Just love the colour combo - can't wait for spring to see pops of colour all around!!

Glad you tried one of those flowers. They are bulky but fun. Your's is wonderful :D Love how the sentiment stands out so "boldly" -- fits the name LOL!

The Opening Ceremony coverage starts at 4:00 but the actual ceremonies don't start until 5:45 or 6:00. My guess is they will have an hour and a half of preamble (maybe a recap of the torch relay etc. etc.). Can't wait!! I am such an Olympic junkie -- probably due to all my competitions in sports over the years and knowing how much hard work you have to do to succeed! SO wish we could go to a few events but the ticket prices are insane....front row seats to all events from the couch for me too, other than a pop downtown to catch some of the atmosphere at some of the free venues :D

Hi Maureen--love this colour combo. The same floral photo was used for the Curtain Call color challenge last week--love it. I was just at the grocery store and saw a very similar bouquet, but with a deeper purple. I drove home right away with all these ideas flooding in my head, so I put my 2 sleeping boys to bed for a nap, put the groceries away and started creating. It's half made--my youngest woke up, so I'll finish and post it later tonight, hopefully.
I just got that PTI stamp set--love the endless sentiment possibilities with it!
I'm pretty pumped about he Olympics too--I'll be glued. It's a good thing I have a TV in the room where I craft!!

Wow! What a great color combo. I never would have thought to use that splash of purple against the oranges. So pretty! And I love the polka dot paper flower. For some reason I had it stuck in my head that this would only work with book print, lol. I so lack inspiration sometimes.

Enjoy the opening games tonight! I also have front row seats from my couch. I'm so looking forward to the music. The theme song makes me so happy. :)
