You're Never More than a Thought Away

Good morning! I can't believe the weekend is over...I've been watching the Olympics all weekend...well, the t.v. has been on all weekend while I did other things. Today's card is for Karen's Sweet sketch. It's a square card so I thought I would try an easel card for the first time, inspired by the one my blog buddy, Amy, made a few months ago. I finally sat down and made one...it took about 2 hours!! It wasn't so much the easel part (that was easy...two score lines, two folds...done!), but the papers and sentiment panel. I used some new to me Cosmo Cricket paper along with a new SU sentiment stamp and bird punch :)

I love the way the card stands up...so fun to decorate the band that allows the card front to stand up :) I hope you like it too and try one out...the tutorial is here over at Splitcoast Stampers. I love the way they have pictures as well as a video. Have a wonderful day :)

What's in it?
Stamps: SU whimsical words
Ink: SU choc chip
Paper: PTI vintage cream, summer sunrise, SU bayou bay, choc chip, pomegranate, kiwi kiss; Cosmo Cricket dp
Accessories: PTI ribbon, circle nestabilities; stitching; fiskars apron lace punch; SU two step bird punch

Yay! Way to rock the Easel card! It looks fabulous! That birdie is so sweet as are your papers!
Hope you're enjoying the Olympics! I'm catching glimpses of it - darn that time difference! LOL!

Darling use of Karen's sketch card. Love the bird with the polka dotted wing :D I had that punch on my list to buy but dropped it at the last minute (dumb!!) Will have to get it next time round (sure it will be in the new catty).

You did better than me getting to some card making! I have Olympic fever BAD and have to be down stairs to watch it so can't create at the same time since my craft area is upstairs - not that I could concentrate enough to do it anyway LOL! Have a great Monday :D

This is a very tweet card :) You did that bird punch justice. You'll have to tell me how much you use it. And you got whimsical words...wood or clear mount?

Have an awesome day Maureen.

I think I love everything about this card! The colors, the ribbon, the stitching... It just all works so well together on this card. And how fun to try out a new type of card! You are braver than I, lol.

I'm so enjoyin the Olympics and most definitely want to come visit BC now. My bf has been talking about taking a trip up there one of these days. She raves about a garden (Buchart? or something like that, hehe) and the overall scenery.
