Boise or Bust Blog Candy!

MoeJulee
Good morning everyone!  Guess where I was this past weekend?!  The wedding we attended on the weekend was not here in town, it was in Boise, Idaho.  We traveled for 2 days to get there but what an amazing time we had.  The wedding was just beautiful and heartfelt and we had so much fun celebrating with friends there.  Now, someone else very special lives there!  It is also the home of Julee of Verve Stamps :)  I was SO excited when we got the news Tony’s friend in Boise was getting married.  Meeting Julee and Mark was one of those “bucket list” items.  She is even more sweet and beautiful in person than she is online.  And Mark, aka Mr. Verve, is just as kind and funny IRL.

I must say I was more than a little “star struck.”   I got to see Verve Headquarters and Julee’s studio where magic takes place.  AND I got to tickle and play a bit with their most adorable boys…photos to come on another post soon!  So, to celebrate this happy occasion, I’d like to offer up some Vervey goodness!  Julee gave me a set of Teachers Count and matching Apple Dies to offer as Blog Candy during the last Release as I inspired the set :)  That’s how sweet she is!

Apples Die Set
All you have to do to win is tell me about someone special you’ve met in real life OR would like to meet some day.  I’ll make the draw in one week and post the winner next Thursday, May 30th.  The winner will have 3 days to contact me.  Good luck!

You lucky duck! I'd LOVE to meet the Verve family!! There are a lot of crafty girls I'd love to meet, and pick their brains....I'd love to come out to BC, and maybe watch some curling and get crafty with a St. Patty's Day crafter....you know anyone that would fit the bill??

I'm soooooo jealous you got to meet Mark and Julee!! Was teasing Julee about meeting you too! Heck, we are a short 4 hours apart and have never conencted and yet the two of you have...hmmmm...beginning to wonder if it's me LOL! Glad you got to spend some time together and snuggle the boys :)

Love this teacher's set and it's getting lots of use for year end cards, especially with my elementary school years quickly coming to a close.

Someone I've met IRL is Billy Graham. Amazing, amazing man! Someone I'd like to met - many of my on line cyber friends!

I live in Calgary but I have family in Boise! I love visiting there, even during the hot season. It's a pleasant size.
I went to CHA in Chicago back when PTI was still attending so that I could meet Nichole and Dawn and Debbie. I was starstruck! ;)

I got to meet Tom T Hall (a country music biggie in years past) and it was such a treat. My husband interviewed him at Six Flags in St. Louis many years ago and he was just like his music - sweet, homey, country through and through. Look him up on Youtube and enjoy!

My sister-in-law Vickie is the most special person in the whole world. Life keeps dumping on her but she doesn't let it keep her down. Her husband cheated on her and left her, so she had to raise her 4 kids ( one which is 27 now but can't walk or talk and still wears diapers) by herself . She always has an extra room at her house for children that just need a place to get a way. You see her home has always been a safe haven and you can talk to her about anything and she is always there for anyone that needs her. She has always been my someone special.

Wow...so special that you could visit with Mark and Julee and boys while in Boise! Thanks for sharing the photos! I had an unplanned meeting of my SCS dirty dozen sister while I was at a Copic class in Richmond last year! Had no idea that she would be there! Had lunch together and sat together during class...fun times!

It is simply wonderful that you were able to meet Julee while on the trip to attend the wedding.

As a teacher, I had the wonderful privilege of meeting a super batch of students this year. I am dreading having to say goodbye to them next week, but I look forward to meeting the people each of them will become.

Whata super fun trip for you!! I have a fun story of someone I met...I have become online friends with Rhonda from Bumblebee Creations, and knew she lived in the same state about 6 hours North of me, so the hubs and I were on a North trip to our house there and went shopping one day in a Hobbylobby about 75 miles from where we were staying and I noticed someone shopping in the paper crafting aisle, and it looked just like Rhonda from her blog...so I boldly asked...and it was!!!! We had a great time talking...it was such an odd thing to be at the same place at the same time, as it was a distance from her house, too!!

In our little town we have a Teresa Collins DT member who is a sweetheart and super talented, Julie Jacob. I was in her first ever MiniBook class at Treasury of Memories when it was open in Bellingham.
Also, think it would be fun to meet you some time, I think you are only a couple hours north of
me. I live between the Lynden and Sumas border crossings.

Your meeting with Julee looks wonderful. I was lucky enough to come to the States and do a class with Michelle Zindorf and her brayer - she makes it looks easy!!! One day maybe I will get to meet some other wonderful crafting ladies over there!

How wonderful to meet Julee and Mark! I recently met Ann Voskamp who is the author of 1000 Gifts. It was such a treat!

It must have been very exiting meeting eachother. I can tell by the big smiles on your face (-:

I once met Eline Pellinkhof. She is a Dutch illustrator and I am a fan of her work since I started paper crafting.

I'd love to meet some blogger-friends from all over the world...

Wishing you a sunny weekend,
Judith

Oh my goodness how exciting for you. Glad you got to meet them.
My most memorable person I met was Apolo Ohno.
My daughter and I really wanted to see him when he was on a book tour.
Problem #1 she was in college 2 hours away. He was making a stop at her college bookstore and then here at Borders.
Problem #2 she had a Spanish test right when he was there and missed seeing him by 5 minutes! Ugh!
So what is a Mom to do?
Well this Mom hopped into the car and went to get her.
Crazy you say? Maybe but definately a memory we will have forever.
Due to his schedule he wasn't going to be able to stay for a meet and greet.
BUT when he heard what we had gone through to see him he told her to come on over, gave her a big hug and I got PICTURES!

When I met my college roommate so many years ago, I had no idea how I would come to admire and love her. She battled through many things in her life, and has gone on to establish a foundation to take women who are recovering from breast cancer on sailing trips in beautiful parts of the world. These women find strength in relating to each other's journeys, led by my remarkable friend Jann.

I just love meeting other stampers no matter if they are bloggers or a neighbor down the street. I love getting and sharing ideas. It has been the best 'trip' of my life.
