Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, Etc...

Good morning everyone!! Today's card was fun to make as I was experimenting with my PTI stamps, in particular my new Giga Guidelines set. The movie for Cinema Saturday's challenge is Legally Blonde...I loved this movie. I, like most people, thought it was going to be lame, but I really enjoyed Reese's performance and how she didn't want the guy in the end...very inspirational. The requirement this week is, therefore, to make a card with an inspiring or encouraging sentiment. I immediately thought of my much loved Verve Plain Jane. I love it for the words as well as the beautiful font. I was inspired by a Dawn McVey colour palette and tried to mixed polka dots with the guideline's image. I love the splash of aqua against the pink. I hope you take a risk in your card making this week...you never know!! :)

Last Sunday I went to my first Craft Sale of the Christmas Season. I used to go to this one all the time, but you get to a point sometimes when it's the same old, same old. A friend came over Saturday and showed me a serving plate she had bought from a local potter that we know. I had to laugh!!! I loved it. She knew the potter was going to be at the Sunday Craft Sale so I knew I had to go. Aren't these delightful? Now, I can joke about nuns because I'm Catholic and went to a Catholic elementary school. I'm too young to have had the full habit nuns, but my Grade 5 teacher (a nun) had the headress part of the habit. The martini plate is for me and the margarita one is for my sister, Mary!! She will love it!! It's hard to tell in the picture, but they are about 28 cm (11 inches) long.

That's all!! Have a fantastic day!!

Good for you for stepping outside the box in your card making. It is always a bit intimidating but well worth it - says me with the one creative gene LOL! Love the big polka dots adn there is that yummy border punch again. Great mix of buttons and the touch of aqua is perfect. Lovely job, Maureen :D

I'm still shocked with the Verve win! I've done these sketches since day one and still can't believe it is my name there. Add your gracious gift in and I will definitely have a wonderful Christmas :D
