Happy Birthday ~ Transformation Tuesday

Happy Friday!  I'm back again with my take on Papertrey Ink's Transformation Tuesday.  I took my Make it Monday card which was bright and cheery and created a more monochromatic one with softer colours.  Here they are side by side.

Happy Birthday ~ Make it Monday

Hello friends!  It's the Easter long weekend so I got up early to spend a bit of inky time in the studio.  I'm playing along with this week's Papertrey Ink Make it Monday challenge to use a stenciled edge.  My new Yupo paper arrived this week so I made my first stencil with the quatrefoil coverplate.  Here's the stencil...

It held up quite well so I used it again for my Transformation Tuesday card coming soon!  Thanks for stopping by!

You're Amazing, Mom ~ Make it Monday

Happy Friyay, friends!  I planned to spend my last official day of Spring Break (weekends don't count!) doing my taxes and then playing in the studio.  This card is for this week's PTI Make it Monday challenge, splatter embossing.  I used some dot stamps to add embossed dots, then sprinkled embossing powder around before heating it.  It looks splattered IRL, honest!  Yes, I did make two cards, but the other one won't show up until the Blog Hop Sunday...it's a tiny bit different :)  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday ~ Transformation Tuesday

Hi Friends!  I have been enjoying lazy Spring Break days watching the Canadian Women's curling team play at the Worlds Championships and making cards!  This is my first PTI Transformation Tuesday (unless you count the one they had during the Anniversary celebration).  I didn't realize it was a challenge to participate in!  I went back over some cards and picked the one below to transform.  I was originally CASEing Betsy...that was my first mistake, fooling around with Betsy perfection!  I should have known better.  I used mostly the same supplies, but added my own twists, vellum doily, sequins, and a new sentiment set, Penned Elegance.  Seriously, I am so happy with this set and am even more happy about getting the dies.  They are designed so there is lots of room for adhesive on the back.  You can either stamp directly on your card or overlap with the die cut.  Here's my first card... I also inked the background instead of water colouring it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Mom, Wonderful Marvelous You ~ The Card Concept

Hello everyone!  Today starts a new challenge over at The Card Concept challenge blog based on the picture below...

Can we just ooohhhh and aahhhhhh about this picture?  I just love the aqua and yellow together against white.  I think my inspiration speaks for itself.  Broke out my new PTI Brushed Birds to create this "sort of"  shabby card.  I can never define my card designs.  Do you have that same problem?  Here's my second card...swapped out the aqua birds for lilac coloured ones as they went better with the patterned paper...

I hope you'll head over to The Card Concept blog to see all the different interpretations from the Design Team then join in the fun!  Have a great day!

Awesome, Wonderful ~ Make it Monday

Happy weekend, friends!  I had a small window of free time today so I filled my coffee cup and headed straight into the studio to make a card for this week's Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday challenge.  We are to be inspired by the colour wheel.  I had been thinking about this challenge all week and what shapes/images I could use for the colour wheel.  I have been using the timeless Heart Prints set lately so I punched out 6 hearts and crossed my fingers they would fit perfectly around the sentiment circle...they DID!  Oh my, I literally squealed!  I didn't think this card needed any more embellishments, no twine, no sequins, I just wanted those beautiful coloured hearts to take center stage.  Thanks for stopping by!

Wonderful Friend ~ The Card Concept

Hello everyone!  Today starts a new challenge over at The Card Concept challenge blog based on the picture below...

I was fascinated by all the greens and started by looking for some green patterned paper.  From there I busted open my new Papertrey Ink Penned Elegance stamps and dies.  The VERY first thing I did was figure out which die went with which stamp and labels the dies!  Easy breezy to find the matching die now :)

And because it's a tradition more often than not, here's my second card :)  I call this style "Clean and Layered."  Gosh I love that Large Tulip die!

I hope you'll head over to The Card Concept blog to see all the different interpretations from the Design Team then join in the fun!  Have a great day!
