Happy Birthday (and New Year!)

happybirthdaymaureenplut

Hello friends!  It’s the last day of the year and I was fortunate enough to spend a few hours in the studio.  I SO wanted to make something for the final PTI Make it Monday challenge which lets us choose a past challenge.  I chose the very last one! HA!  I really wanted to make a card using Melissa’s stamped background tutorial.  I even made a junk bow like hers! I LOVE this idea!  I also got to play with the Friendly Flowers set I got a few months ago.  I was inspired by the Blog Hop last week using gold and silver, translated to grey, kraft, and river rock on my card :)

So on this final day of this wonderful year, I wish you all comfort, joy, and wonder of a new year.  Thank you for stopping by and sharing my passion :) I hope to see you around in the new year, you’re always welcome!  Group Hug!

Papertrey Ink December Blog Hop

merrychristmasmaureenplut

Hello friends!  It’s Boxing Day here in Canada so I’m snuggled up at home avoiding all the sales and enjoying some family time :)  I was so excited about this month’s Papertrey Ink blog hop theme…gold and silver!  I had one more card to make before Christmas so I broke out my new PTI goodies to make this card inspired by Melissa’s card on this post.  I’ve used gold and silver glitter cardstock for the Merry Christmas words and silver cardstock for the poinsettia leaves.  Some gold striped paper and gold cording make this card perfect for the challenge!  Have a wonderful day and enjoy the hop!

A Christmas Thank You

christmasthankyoumaureenplut

WOOOHOOOOO!!!  I’m coming to you bright and early on my first DAY OFF in what feels like forever!  No classes, no work, just baking and decorating and visiting and reading a NOVEL and making cards and playing with my mixed media goodies and sleeping!  There’s so much more, but I’m too busy doing it! LOL  HA!  I wanted to share the sweet little 3x3 thank you card I made for my generous parents this year.  I am always humbled by how thoughtful parents are at this time and love writing a personal note of thanks to them.  I made a whole set in one night!

I’m up early to hit the grocery store and gym!  No rest for the wicked weary!  Have a great Saturday!

I Lift Up My Eyes

iliftupmyeyesmaureeplut

Hi friends!  Popping in to share a card I made this week for a very dear relative who has had a sad health diagnosis this month.  When I hear such news, I turn to this verse from Verve’s Scripture Medley 2.  It calms and comforts me and I hope that it does the same for the person I send it to.

Two more days!  YIKES!  I am so ready for 2 weeks of REST!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day :)

Peace, Love & Joy ~ Curtain Call Inspiration

love&joymaureenplut

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

We have a new sponsor, Avery Elle, for this challenge!  A randomly selected participant will receive a $20 Avery Elle gift certificate, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

I just love the colours in the inspiration photo! I found some white and red striped paper and bakers twine and then added the hint of turquoise by stamping the sweet little birdies in bermuda bay (SU) onto aquamist paper (PTI).  The sentiment and birdies are from Avery Elle’s Noel set.

December Rewind ~ Teacher Thank You

merrychristmasmaureenplut

Hi friends!  I’m back with another quick rewind!  This one was from my Verve’s Diva Dare post last December.  I used my all time favourite Verve Teachers Count set.  What a fun card to stick into a teacher’s gift this Christmas :)  Hope your week is going well…I spy a weekend coming up!

December Rewind

everyheartmaureenplut_thumb[1]

Hello again!  You’ve caught me in the middle of my last super busy week…as opposed to my last normal busy one next week.  I’m finishing up report cards and my last big assignments for my last class this semester!  Can we all shout, “Woo Hoo!”  Four semesters down, 2 to go!  So I thought it was perfect time for another rewind from last year :)  Oh, I love pink and gold still!!  And this sentiment from Verve says it all…let us prepare our hearts for that sweet baby Jesus :)  If you’d like to see the original post, click HERE.  Have a lovely day!

Verve Release Retrospect Blog Hop

christmasblessingsmaureenplut

Welcome to Verve's Holiday Release Retrospective Blog Hop! The Verve Divas and special guests are hopping today and serving up some more inspiration using our Holiday Release stamps & dies! Besides a look-see at some really lovely cards, there's also a comment prize up for grabs!

I couldn’t help but make a chalkboard-ish card for one of my teacher friends.  I am all about non traditional colours for Christmas (but very traditional about the true meaning of Christ’s birth…go figure!).  I used two of the new Verve Holiday stamp sets.  The sentiment is from Weary World and those sweet poinsettias are from Pinecone Christmas and the matching dies from Poinsettia Pinecones Die Set.

Want to win some shiny new Verve? We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win a $50 gift voucher to Verve! So be sure to leave a little comment on all the blogs below to increase your chances! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the details.

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop!

Hello friends!  If you've arrived from Yoonsun Hur's blog you are right on track!  I have the bittersweet honour of participating in the Swan Song blog hop for Paper Crafts Magazine.  It truly is the end of a publishing era.  PC has meant so many things to so many people over the years.

My own connection besides always purchasing the magazine was winning the Moxie Fab Colour Challenge.  What an exciting moment to get the email and then the prize of a Cricut, cartridges, and Gypsy.  But by far, having my picture and card in the magazine was the best of all...

papercraftsjuly

Then I got up the nerve to submit cards for publication.  This was my first card submitted and accepted.  I still remember how it felt to get Susan's email of acceptance.

What wonderful  memories.  Thanks to Susan, Cath, and all the wonderful and creative people at Paper Crafts.  You will no doubt find success in whatever comes your way.  Thank you for being such a special part of my card making passion :)

The fun and memories continue on Jessica Pascarella's blog!
