Lucky ~ CASE Study #80

luckycasemar1

Woohoo!! It’s the eve before my favourite month!  AND there’s a fabulous new Muse to be inspired by over on the CASE Study blog!!  Oh, my, she’s one of my favourite card makers…Laura Bassen.  Laura is a truly gifted designer.  She is right up there with the best of the best of the CAS ladies.  Her first card we are using this week was recently posted on her blog.  And my tongue literally dropped out of my mouth!  Seriously, it doesn’t get more perfect than this!

CASEstudy

When I saw these colourful hearts, I saw a shamrock (surprise!).  Now, I am totally impressed with Laura’s perfect stitching and clean white paper.  I have no idea how she did it!   I tried my best, though, to capture the feel of her card.  Now, come on over to CASE Study see how the rest of the design team was inspired and play along! Can’t wait to see your card!

Miss You

Good morning!  I had some extra time on the weekend while watching the Oscars to play along with the CR84FN colour challenge this week.  I just love this gorgeous palette!  Oh, kraft and yellow?  Get out of here!  I went for a soft grey on the jotted heart as well as with the sentiment banner and button on the bow :)  LOVE PTI’s soft stone paper.  It’s perfect when you have too much cream or white.  Have a lovely day and thanks so much for stopping by :)

Thank You

thankyou

Good morning!!  Ah, another week…to start me off, I played along with the My Favourite Things weekly sketch.  I brought out my fun A La Modes and decided to give our little teacher a bit of colour by paper piecing :)  I really don’t know if I will ever get into colouring…I know, strange for a teacher!! The paper I’ve used is from Basicgrey’s Kissing Booth.  I just love the fun colours, they’re not just for Valentine’s :)  And how cute is that little journal tab?  I think those are my new obsession :)  Have a fabulous day!!

Now Join Your Hands

sfyttfeb

Good morning!! I hope your weekend is going well.  I had a chance to make my February card for Jen’s Sketch For You to Try.  There is a HUGE prize in December up for grabs for a lucky card maker who has played all year…maybe it will be me!!  It took me all month to think of what those circles on the side should be…stars, hearts, flowers… then I needed some more wedding cards so I went with the circle/heart die and stamp from PTI’s Love Lives Here.  I sure do love that set :)  The sentiment is from Fiskars’ Just Married Quotes.  I sure do love THAT set too :)  Sending you smiles and cheer…

Birthday Cheer

birthdaycheer

Good morning!!  Once again, I can’t resist playing along with this week’s colourQ inspiration colours.  Sometimes, when I first see a colour combo or inspiration photo, a certain paper or certain stamp pops into my head.  It happened with this card…this lovely grey gingham by October Afternoon came to mind along with my beloved Button Boutique stamps…hmmm, maybe there’s no surprise there!! I couldn’t resist using the “guaranteed washable” stamp…it makes me laugh out loud for some reason!  Maybe it reminds me of babies…ACK!!  LOL  Adding a sentiment to button cards is not easy for me…but adding a little sentiment tab does the trick ;)  I’ve got a nice little stock pile of cards ready to go to my sister’s work place on Friday!  I hope they like them like my staff :)  Have a lovely Saturday and thanks so much for all your sweet comments :)

You are Beautiful ~ CASE Study #79

youarebeautiful

Hi everyone!!  We’re back again over on the CASE Study challenge blog for another week with our super lovely Muse, Karola Witczak, and her super lovely inspiration photo.

VV_frame1

I was first drawn to the beautiful colours, green, pink and cream and then the “girlie-ness” of the card.  I’m guessing this is Karola’s daughter or niece so I added a sentiment I might say to any one of my nieces :)  What are YOU inspired by?  Join us this week over on CASE Study!!  Seriously, it’s so fun…you can be inspired by anything, not just the layout!!  That’s what I love about this challenge…you basically have free rein!  Hope your week is humming along!  Thanks for stopping by :)

Welcome Baby

welcomebaby

Good morning!!  Wow, 3 morning posts in a row!!  Maybe I’m back on track!! {wink!}  Today’s card uses this week’s Waltzingmouse Sketch.  I am on a bit of a baby kick this week as I’m taking my cards into my sister’s workplace next week and I know baby and wedding cards will be hot items.  I rotated this sketch 90 degrees so that I could have a horizontal sentiment.  Still loving Say it Loud and so happy I got it last month :)  Have a glorious day!!  Hey, we’re half way to the weekend :)

Mojo Monday #229 ~ Baby Wishes to Julee & Mark

babyboytwins

I have the honour of being a part of a very special blog hop today :)  If you’ve arrived from Lori Craig's blog, you are right on track.  AND if you haven’t heard, Julee Tilman, the owner and uber talented designer of Verve Stamps, and her husband Mark are expecting identical twin boys on…guess when?  My birthday!! Yes, St. Patty’s Day is the official due date!  However, as we know, babies come when they come but I couldn’t resist adding a little shamrock to my card in hopeful anticipation :)  I also created my own sentiment, one I love, but got to add “4 feet” instead of the usual “2 feet.”  We are using this week’s Mojo Monday sketch and offering Julee and Mark some parenting advice.

mojo229

Hmm, there are many things I wish I could share but here are the ones that I think will be useful right now :)

1) read and sing to your boys every day!

2) let them see your love for each other…it will be the relationship example they will use as young men.

I’m so excited for you, Julee and Mark!!  I know you are anxious, we all were…but you’ll make your way together :)  Now, no salsa dancing or spicy foods as I’m rooting for March 17th {wink!} Next up is Toni Storie's blog!  And if you would like to see the whole hop list, head over to Teresa’s blog!

Love and hugs,

You’re the Coolest Chick I Know

coolestchick

Good evening!  Still don’t have my normal posting schedule back but I’m not going to fight it, I’m just going to go with the creative flow!  Tonight’s card is inspired by this week’s Moxie Fab World’s Tuesday Trigger photo.  It’s been on the back of my mind all week and I finally couldn’t resist all the colours and patterns!

Chiclectic

It’s modern and traditional and I love it!  The headboard reminded me of a fancy frame so I used my new My Favorite Things cameo frame to spotlight my Verve Chick’s Rule sentiment (on sale this month HERE!).  There’s one more day for this week’s trigger…are you playing along?  I got a lot more organized in the studio today while watching Whitney Houston’s funeral.  I thought it was beautiful and loved the music and heartfelt stories.  She was deeply loved and isn’t that what it’s all about?  Sweet dreams,

Where There is Love

wherethereislove

TGIF!! Woohoo!!  In keeping with “love” week, here’s a little card full of love that you could use any time of year.  This would work for an anniversary, wedding or bridal shower card :)  It’s Friday and that means there is another super fabulous Viva La Verve sketch over on the Verve SCS Forum!!  Diva Laurie has a sketch full of fun layering possibilities, not to mention a great way to use up some precious patterned paper scraps :)

VLVFeb12Week3Sketch

After checking out the Verve Forum, be sure to stop by the Verve Store.  Julee has another fun sale that started this week.  The sentiment I’ve used on this card is from Text Objects which is part of this sale :)

Well, that’s all for me.  On Monday I was sure this week would go by quickly and it has!!  Next up in the studio is organizing my ribbon!!  I’m so happy the racks are up and waiting to be filled :)  I’ll take some pics when I’m done :)  Happy Friday, everyone!!

Kindness

Kindness

Good evening!! I thought I’d be back to my regular morning posts, but I had time to play with this week’s Waltzingmouse Sketch :)  Oh, I wasn’t going to have time but we had a HUGE dump of snow today so I went straight home after work instead of running all my errands.  Needless to say, I got my ribbon all organized and had time to make this sweet little kindness card using this fun sketch.  I used eyelets for the small circles and tied twine into a bow.

WMSC84_thumb[1]

Okay, here’s a photo of the ribbon racks!! ACK!! I could probably have gotten them all into 2 racks…but last time we only put 2 up, I ran out of room quickly.  I think all the purging I did helped PLUS I keep my seam binding in a small container now, not on the ribbon rack.  I may use that extra rack for some embellishment bottles.  You can also see my die cutting area and my paper:)  All my SU paper is in the lower cabinet and all my PTI paper is up on the counter in a magazine holder.  My patterned paper pads are the wicker basket and my scrap bags are in a matching basket right beside it :)  I love having all my dies, paper and cutting tools in one area :)

cherish. love. ~ CASE Study #78

love

Good evening!  It’s time for another week of incredible inspiration by our talented February Muse, Karola Witczak, over on the CASE Study challenge blog.  I knew I wanted to make a square card with my scalloped square nestabilities and some fun Out of Print paper by Basicgrey.  Then I just started playing with flowers and my new Maya Road tickets.  I love that the little sentiments from Verve’s Wings of Love fit perfectly on these sweet little tickets :)  Here’s the lovely photo we are working with this week…

Now head over to the CASE Study blog to check out how the Design Team interpreted this card…THEN join in the fun!  Would love to see what you come up with :)  Thanks for visiting!!

Happy Birthday

happybirthday

Good evening!! Well, I am officially anniversary challenged out!! Thank goodness this is the last one…I know I didn’t need to do every one, but I did and I am DONE.  Really, it would be nice to only have a few card challenges…especially when one works full time and only has one day.  Having said that, I have some nice cards in my stash now :)  The last challenge is to make an interactive card…well, the only kind I like to make are useful ones that include little book marks :)  So I made just that :)

Indeed, we are surrounded by miracles!!  Okay, I’m off to make my lunch and then tuck this little card maker into bed :)  Sweet dreams!

Bringin’ Back the Mini Pizza Box!

minipizzabox

Good morning!  Happy Valentine’s Day!!  I had a few projects left over from the Verve Release last month that I didn’t post and thought it was appropriate to show this one on Valentine’s Day :)  I always like to stretch myself a bit and make a 3D project for new releases.  These little pizza boxes are so cute and it always amazes me that it only takes one sheet of paper to make them :)  PLUS I get to fill them with yummy theme candy for the photo shoot ;)
