It seems I've been going back and forth between Christmas and Fall cards lately...kind of like the weather we've had here in BC...cold, warm, SNOW, melting snow, falling leaves....repeat! HA!  Acorns are so cool and sweet...I chose this darling acorn paper to make my son's birthday card.  The woodsy vibe and simple layout lend themselves well to a masculine card. Okay, I am always inspired by coffee!  LOL  We just had National Coffee Day and today we celebrate International Coffee Day!  I find this kind of interesting...do we really need a day to celebrate coffee?!  I celebrate it everyday!  I will have the odd iced coffee in the heat of the summer, but this gal is a hot coffee girl through and through.  So with fall here and hot coffee on my mind (and in my cup as I type this post), I found some gorgeous patterned paper in my Autumn Day pad by PhotoPlay.  Then I die cut some digital images from Verve's Coffee Please digital set along with one little "from me to you" which was a Verve digital freebie last February.  I added a little wooden heart to complete the neutral, coffee coloured look :)  Oh my, I need a refill! HA!

Ah, it's September and time for me to say goodbye to my beloved vacation.  I had a wonderful restful and fun time with lazy mornings, daily workouts, traveling, visiting, professional reading, reading for fun, and time in the studio.  But now it's back to school.  I took the colours from the inspiration photo and used them to create a card for our school secretary 'cause she is definitely "a whole lot of awesome."  I will put this on her desk ready for the first day of school :)  I am also using the latest Viva La Verve sketch!  Yes, Viva La Verve is back with monthly sketches!  Check it out over on the Viva La Verve blog.

I don't have any hibiscus flowers in my stamp stash so I went with my old faithful...Rosie Posie! then I chose some patterned paper that mimicked the photos background. I wasn't sure which way to stamp the flowers, orange onto pink or pink onto orange so I tried both ways.  The card above is orange details on pink and this next one is pink details on orange.

 The surf boards made me think of waves which made me think of PTI's Waves Coverplate.  I watered colourd some paper using 3 different blue Zig markers then cut out it out with the coverplate.  Then I cut another one out of white card stock and placed some watercoloured ones back in the white one.  My favourite part of this card? Guess!  Those birds! HA!  Seriously, everytime I stamp them, they just kick up the card a notch.  Cool :)
