It’s Your Day Dad!
Good morning! It’s a lazy, sunny morning here and the coffee is brewing. I snuck down to the studio to share a Father’s Day card for the big day today. Dad is cooking all of his sons-in-law a turkey dinner tonight! He wanted to do it rather than have one of his daughters do the honour. And when you’re 82, you usually get your way! LOL I’m using the Super Dad set from Clearly Besotted stamps and the matching die set to cut out the shirt and the adorable little tie! Hope you’re having a great Sunday! Come back tomorrow for my Verve Diva Dare!

Saddle Up!
Good morning…gee, with all these posts this week, it’s hard to tell I’m writing reports! LOL Truth be told, I did all I could last night and then had some time left over to play :) I’m using this week’s Waltzingmouse Sketch to make my dad’s Father’s Day card. I’ve been waiting patiently for just this occasion to use this John Wayne quote from Back in the Saddle. My dad is a HUGE John Wayne fan as well as a real cowboy (who lives in town because my mom was a city girl ;) ) Here’s proof…this was taken back in the 90’s on one of our local Cattle Drives. Dad used to love working the Drives. He was definitely in his element. A local photographer took this picture and used it to make some gift cards for local stores.
And he’s still at it. At 80, he still has 2 horses and heads out each morning to feed them. So I think he’ll appreciate the Western theme of this card :) Thanks for stopping by…see you tonight for the new CASE Study :)

Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop
Good morning!! Welcome to my April Papertrey Ink blog post! This month we’re celebrating the Boys and Men in our lives. If you’ve been following the latest Papertrey Ink Release, you will remember Nichole’s amazing Mother’s Day card using an old picture. I just had to replicate it for Father’s Day. Yep, that’s yours truly at about age 2! I even have bells on my shoes! LOL This photo was actually a colour photo but I photo edited it with a “sepia” look. I had to change up the elements from Nichole’s card so they would be a bit more masculine…the cork star, and dotted background and the leaf and berry circle image. Notice the date? I don’t have the addition set of dates for the Library Ledger Series (and I don’t think the new one goes back to this date! LOL) so I thought I’d just add this year’s date…now here’s how I got “2011…” I carefully cut up the year 2001. I cut off the “01” at the end and stamped the “1” twice at the end! EEK!! I had to!! I love using old photos…here’s my Father’s Day card from last year…
The next card is inspired by the latest Wild Card Colour Challenge. They were “masculine” colours so I thought they’d be perfect for another Father’s Day card…the dotted label frame and bit of ribbon under the star are actually Forest Foliage/Pinefeather respectively…just difficult to photograph as they are a deep deep green. The star is made out of chipboard using 2 of the PTI star dies and then inked with SU chocolate chip ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for all the wonderful comments…I really appreciate them! I look forward to checking out all the other wonderful ideas!
