I'll Go to It Laughing
Hello friends! This stamp set was sitting by my computer for over a month and I thought it was time to share this card. I made it for our Librarian Aide who retired in June (notice the "completed June 28, 2018) stamped on the side of the library card! I created a bookmark that she can easily take off the card. She loved it...there may have even been a few tears. Seriously, I could never get tired of making cards for teachers and staff! Hope your weekend is going well! Thanks for stopping by!

They Will Never Forget
Greetings! Thanks for stopping by! I had to make 3 cards last month for a coworker's retirement! I had shared the first one in December and here's another one! I thought this sentiment was perfect along with a few apples (of course!). I hope your week has been humming along! See you soon!

Congrats on Your Retirement
Hi friends! Well, it was a very exciting weekend here! First up was the retirement party for one of my favourite administrators. I worked with her for 2 years at my current school and she was beyond amazing. Having said that, I felt she deserved a classy and amazing retirement card. I went all glam on this one! The apple is cut from gold foil, really shimmery IRL. It’s the PTI apple die, but I cut off the “Thanks” so I could add the “Congrats” from the Wet Paint collection. Had to slip in some “school” paper. Oh, I love that alphabet patterned paper!
The second reason this weekend was so exciting was that I finished my LAST course for my Masters! WOOHOO! Oh MY! I’m exhausted! LOL I only have my capstone presentation and oral exam left on the 30th and then I am DONE, DONE, DONE!
Have a great week! It’s also the last week of work for me! EEK! I can’t stand all the excitement!

They Will Never Forget the Way You Made Them Feel
Happy Friday everyone! Today’s card is a special one going to my oldest sister :) She is retiring from a long and rewarding 39 year nursing career and today is her last day of “work.” Some family, friends, and colleagues are going out for her last “long” lunch and I will take this card with a GC to her favourite quilting store :) I thought this quote from Teachers Count was perfect…I love using it for retirement cards. Though I usually leave the inside blank, I did print out this Dr. Seuss quote, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” (I’ve put a request in for Julee to one day make this a plain jane stamp!).
I’ve caught the mixed media bug and have used some embossing paste and stencils to create those sweet raised hearts. I’m also using the brand new Viva La Verve sketch and colour combo.
I’ve also stamped an extra sentiment in the top right corner. Here’s a close up…
And finally, here’s the glassine bag I’ll put the card and GC into :)
Are you thinking of trying a new art form? Let me know! Thanks for stopping by and make sure to head over to the Viva La Verve blog for all the deets on how you could win a fantastic Verve prize by playing along!

Do Beautiful Things ~ PTI Blog Hop
Hello! Welcome to my July PTI Blog Hop post! This month we are inspired by this gorgeous collection of vintage fun! ACK, while just checking out the photo again, I remembered that I was going to use the Button Card stamp! Oh dang! My sister asked me to make a card for our oldest sister’s retirement in a couple of weeks and I knew I needed to add a teapot somewhere…that must have been what led me astray! Anyhow…here’s a list of what inspired me…
