A Thank You and a Farewell ~ CASE Study #155

thankyoumaureenplut

Dickens once wrote,

“Reflect on your present blessings,

which always causes me to

pause, and think of you.”

Hi everyone!  I’m here today with my very last CASE Study post.  Some of you know that I am starting my Masters of Education next month and so I sadly have to cut back on my Design Team duties.  I thought that these sentiments (on the card and the one by Dickens) were perfect to convey the feelings in my heart towards Chupa and the whole CASE Study Design Team.  I have LOVED being a part of this wonderfully creative challenge.  What a Muse I’ve been able to go out with!  Here’s Jennifer Mcguire’s last card with us…

aug29

It’s no secret I’m in love with banners and hope the trend continues for 2 or 10 years!  I added 3 red dots instead of the hearts and picked a sweet thank you sentiment.   EEK!  It’s our last week with Jennifer (and with ME!) so I hope you’ll come a play one last time with us both :)  Head over to the CASE Study blog to see what each DT member came up with, then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting and thanks for all your wonderful CASE Study comments over these past 2 years! HUGE GROUP HUG!

I Love You ~ CASE Study #154

loveyoumaureenplut

Hello!  There’s a new challenge up over on the CASE Study blog!  We’re star struck and loving it with our August muse, Jennifer McGuire!  How ‘bout you?  Here’s the next card for our inspiration pleasure :)  Oh, I love those stripes of colour!

aug22

I looked through some of my newer paper pads to find some paper that mimicked these colourful stripes.  Then I picked a “love” sentiment from my new boutique borders: love set :)  Want to play along?  Head over to the CASE Study blog to see what each DT member came up with, then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Thinking of You ~ CASE Study #153

thinkingofyoumaureenplut

Hi everyone!  It’s Wednesday night here in BC, but Thursday EST, so that means there’s a new challenge up over on the CASE Study blog!  Are you as excited as we are about our August muse, Jennifer McGuire?  I believe I had a stamping star sighting of her at Papertrey Ink’s SAF two years ago.  If I remember correctly, someone said Jennifer had popped in to talk to Dawn McVey (Lynn, correct me if I’m wrong!).  I looked to see this lovely lady with gorgeous hair down at Dawn’s table.  Anyways, here’s the next beauty we get to CASE…

aug15

I used the colours, the floral element and the same kind of sentiment to create my card. I also HAD to use my new Delightful Dahlia Additions set…I was so excited when I saw it on PTI’s countdown last month.  It was a must have for me.  However, it took a bit of time to nail down the exact placement of layers, even with Dawn’s instructions.  Here are my trials and errors…easy to see when you don’t have things lined up! LOL  Ah, but when it comes together, it’s magic!

I couldn’t resist using my new PTI dies to create a fun rainbow in the colours on Jennifer’s card.  Then I die cut 3 clouds from the just released Clearly Besotted The Sky’s the Limit die collection.  The sentiment is from another new release, Many Messages.  Oh, I betcha want to play!  Head over to the CASE Study blog to see what each DT member came up with or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Brian & Ashlee ~ CASE Study 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop

brianashleebuttons&bling

Good morning!  Love is in the air!!  The BIG day is here!  We are on our way to Brian and Ashlee’s wedding in a few hours!  I was so happy to make this special card for the newly weds.

CS 3rd anniversary

As luck would have it, it’s also my turn in the  CASE Study 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop!  So if you’ve just arrived from  Sarah Martina Parker's blog, you are right on track.  If not, head over to the CASE Study Blog to see the whole line up and get all the deets about the 3 days of blog hops and how you could win some fabulous prizes from our sponsors.  The focus of the hop is Inspiration. Pick anything that inspires you as of late.  Well, I’ve had “wedding” on my mind these past 2 weeks.  The colours of the wedding are blush pink, cream and green.  I was sneaky and went into one of Ashlee’s Pinterest boards to find this picture!  I thought it would be perfect to use as inspiration for their wedding card.

I’ve also used this card idea I’ve used a couple of time before here on the blog.  I LOVE it!  The Papertrey Ink Love and Marriage set has a stamp with this same idea.  I just printed out Brian and Ashlee’s names then stamped around it.  Y’all know how much I love to make totally personalized cards :)

weddomg card

Here is what I typed out inside the card.  I love non traditional wedding sentiments…nowhere do you see “Wedding Wishes” or “to the Happy Couple.”  I love the subtleness of using other quotes.  They know it’s a wedding card!  LOL

Sorry, I know this is a blog hop, but it’s such a special day for us here that I had to talk on and on!  ;)  Now head over to Heather Pulvirenti’s blog, the next stop on our hop!  Thanks for visiting!  I’ll be sure to post some wedding photos in the coming weeks :)

Squeal! CASE Study #150

squealmaureenplut

Hi everyone!  This week’s challenge over on the CASE Study blog starts now!  Our talented Muse,  Jocelyn Olson, has a colour delight for us this time round…

July 18

I knew I wanted to have a burst of colour on my card and some kind of celebratory sentiment.  I pulled out my CAS-ual Friday Exclamation set and some more of that fun Doodlebug Designs paper.  I also wanted to use my fun new find at Winners last week, these adorable little Cute Clips.  C-U-T-E indeed!

Small Things with Great Love ~ CASE Study #149

greatlovemaureeplut

HI everyone!  The new weekly challenge over on the CASE Study blog starts now!  Our talented Muse,  Jocelyn Olson, is treating us to another digital wonder…

July 11

Now you’d think that I would have jumped at the chance to use a photo on a card! LOL  But I figured I just posted one on Sunday so I wanted to go in a different direction.  I’ve taken the photo idea, the colours and the “heart” sentiment for my inspiration.  Now it doesn’t show up as “neon” in the photo, but I’ve used the Hero Arts neon pink for the top “oxox” heart.  It is a bright hot pink IRL.  Oh my, I love neon!  I have the small 4 pack so will be waiting for the perfect card for some more bright colours!

july 4

It was a no brainer that there MUST be at least one butterfly on my card this week! LOL  I found this beautiful piece of paper in the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss pack and thought it was perfect :)  I was also inspired by the “dream” part of the inspiration photo so made sure the word was in my own sentiment.  What strikes your fancy?  Head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Hi friends!  There’s a new card up on the CASE Study blog today!  We continue to enjoy the talents of our June Muse, Lisa Spangler.  Here’s what Lisa’s inspiring us with this week…

CS147

I hope it’s easy to see how I was inspired!  The colours, the little hello banner AND the triangles…look closely at my tag…there are little triangles everywhere!  I had to laugh as it reminds me of my students doing shape hunts in math! LOL

Happy Retirement ~ CASE Study #146

happyretirementmaureenplut

Hi friends!  There’s a new card up on the CASE Study blog today!  We’re CASEing the talents of our June Muse, Lisa Spangler, and loving every minute of it.  Here’s what Lisa’s treating us with this week…

CS146

The Parent Advisory Council at my school approached me last week to make 2 commissioned cards for our 2 retiring staff members.  This one will go to our lovely secretary, who has had to put up with us at-times-scattered-brain teachers! LOL  I took the bright colours of Lisa’s card and muted them a bit for a more shabby feel.  I’ve used 2 different Clearly Besotted sets, the flourish from Framed Sentiments and the sentiment from Happy Days.  I was also inspired by the layout but just moved everything down a bit so I could add in some lace :)

What do you love about Lisa’s card?  Head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday ~ CASE Study #145

happybirthdaymaureenplut

Hi friends!  There’s a new card up on the CASE Study blog today!  We’re CASEing the talents of our June Muse, Lisa Spangler, and loving every minute of it.  Here’s what Lisa’s treating us with this week…

CS145

I went “loaded” this week even though LIsa’s creation is CAS.  I was inspired by the colours, hexagon and the sentiment on the little banner.  The Teresa Collins Memories paper collection is SO yummy and I’m having a blast playing mixing all the different patterns and colours.  I’m also using another Clearly Besotted Stamp set, Make a Wish, that released last week.  You’ll want to check it out ASAP because everything in the store has been selling like hotcakes!

What do you love about Lisa’s card?  Head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Rain or Shine ~ CASE Study #144

rainorshinemaureenplut

Hello friends!  Well, hold onto your hats because we’ve got lots going on over on the CASE Study blog today!  Not only are we introducing a new Muse, the talented Lisa Spangler, but we’re also welcoming 3 new Teamies, Maureen Merritt, Silke Ledlow and Tasnim Ahmed!!!  Woohoo!  But wait! There’s more!  Our Guest Designer for June is none other than my bestie, Lynn Mangan, from The Mango Boys and Me!  How fun is that!  Okay, onto our inspiration for this week.  How stunning are Lisa’s colours?  That was my starting point this week :)

CS144

I thought it would be so fun to take those colours and stamp them on my new Clearly Besotted Stamps umbrella die.  This die and the coordinating stamp set, April Showers, is just being released over in the Clearly Besotted Stamps store if you want to check it out.  The set includes 3 different umbrella patterns divided into 3 parts so you can stamp in 3 different colours like I’ve done here.  I also used some beautiful striped paper from Simple Stories to echo those fabulous colours on Lisa’s card.

Oh,  I betcha can’t wait to play this week!  Head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!

Happy Birthday ~ CASE Study #143

happybirthdaymaureenplut

Hey there, friends!  The new challenge over on the CASE Study blog is up and we are sadly saying goodbye to the talented Maile Belles.  We are so excited SO many of you have wanted to play with Maile and us this month.  It’s been one wild ride!  Without further ado…let’s see the last {sniff} inspiration…

may30

I was drawn to the warm colours, the wood elements and the focal point at the bottom of the card.  I knew my new Clearly Besotted Honeycomb dies would be perfect to create a graphic line to ground the sentiment.  Before I cut the hexagons, I adhered small pieces of the patterned paper to some heavier cardstock so the shapes would be nice and strong once I popped them up with foam adhesive.  The sentiment is from the newly released Honeycomb set…don’t you just love that font?  I played around with some different wood hearts before picking this one and then moved it around onto all the different hexagons before deciding on the far right one…it looked best to me :)

Aw, it’s hard to say goodbye to Maile, but she’s on my Blogger List so she’s never far away :)  Make sure you come and play this week!   Head over to the CASE Study blog or visit each of the Design Team Members directly on their blogs below and then join in the fun!  Thanks for visiting!
