A Big Heart ~ Stock Your Stash

Hello!  Wow!  It's been ages again since I've posted.  Still card making, just not blogging.  I had high hopes of posting more this summer, but we had a glorious, smoke-free summer so I spent most of it outdoors.  So here I am on the last day of summer holidays, looking for a fun challenge.  I grabbed some die cuts from my stash and stamped this sweet apple sentiment for a Fall card for Reverse Confetti's Stock Your Stash challenge.  Teacher cards are still my favourite :)  Take care, friends.  Happy Fall!

Teachers Live Forever ~ Colour Throw Down

Happy Sunday, friends!  It's been a lovely morning in the studio creating one of my favourite genres of cards ~ teacher cards!  I head back to my classroom tomorrow to start setting up for the new school year that begins on September 7th here in BC.  My colours are inspired by the Colour Throw Down challenge.  I turned to my trusty apple dies from Spellbinders that I found at HomeSense years ago...it was one of the best finds EVER!!  Seriously, $7.99 CAD for these adorable dies!

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day :)

Thank you for all you do! Colour Throwdown Challenge

Hello again!  Ahh, it feels so good to say that :)  As I've been trying to catch up on the last 2 years of card blogging, I came across the Colour Throwdown Challenge.  AND, even though it's still summer for this teacher, I cannot resist making a teacher card!  Inspired by the colours and All the fun teacher embellishments, I came up with this card with some "vintage" October Afternoon paper, a Reverse Confetti apple waiting for 2 years for the perfect card, and a sentiment from my beloved and classic Verve Teachers Count retired stamp set.

Again, I am so thankful you've stopped by and for my lovely commenters...I am definitely following up on your suggestions!  Luanne, can you believe it's been 10 years since the original PTI Stampafaire!  So grateful I made the long trek out to it :)

This is all filling my soul, friends, thanks for being here :)

2 Teach is 2 Love ~ The Card Concept

Greetings everyone!  It's time for a fun new challenge over at The Card Concept challenge blog!    This week our inspiration comes from this fabulous photo:

Oh, this makes me think of French Country...and golden delicious apples!  Okay, maybe our field trip to Davison Orchard last week helped with that! LOL  I found some beautiful blue and white patterned paper in my stash and stamped some golden delicious (or Aurora) apples to make a clean and layered teacher card that makes my soul sing.  Head over to The Card Concept blog to see all the different interpretations from the Design Team then join in the fun!  Thanks so much for popping by:)

Thanks ~ Transformation Tuesday Challenge

It's our Thanksgiving Day long weekend here in Canada which means I had some inky time in the studio and got to play along with PTI's Transformation Tuesday challenge :)  For today's card, I used the same layout but different paper and dies to create a teacher card, my most favourite type of card to make :)  Here are the 2 cards side by side.

Thanks for visiting!

Little Ones Count

Greetings, friends!  I'm back today with another card made for one of our math presenters in a few weeks.  Though Verve has closed (insert sad face here), I will forever use this Teachers Count set.  Julee made it after I sent her some ideas for a teacher set :).  I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Back to School.  Thanks for visiting...have a great weekend!

2 Teach is 2 Love

Hello, friends!  Well, I am pleased to tell you that I am thoroughly enjoying the CLEAN studio and have made it down to stamp most days this past week.  It's great to know where everything is and have a place for everything.  It has cleared up my mind for sure.  We are having a couple of days of summer Professional Development in a couple of weeks and I was asked to make some thank you cards for our math presenters.  Teacher cards are my most favourite ones to make :)  I knew I had to put a little "math" into this one...so fun!  I'm playing along with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Back to School.  Thanks for stopping by!

I'll Go to It Laughing

Hello friends!  This stamp set was sitting by my computer for over a month and I thought it was time to share this card.  I made it for our Librarian Aide who retired in June (notice the "completed June 28, 2018) stamped on the side of the library card!  I created a bookmark that she can easily take off the card.  She loved it...there may have even been a few tears.  Seriously, I could never get tired of making cards for teachers and staff!  Hope your weekend is going well!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Whole Lot of Awesome ~ Curtain Call Inspiration

Hello everyone! It's time for a new challenge over on the  Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge.  This time we’re inspired by this photo…

Ah, it's September and time for me to say goodbye to my beloved vacation.  I had a wonderful restful and fun time with lazy mornings, daily workouts, traveling, visiting, professional reading, reading for fun, and time in the studio.  But now it's back to school.  I took the colours from the inspiration photo and used them to create a card for our school secretary 'cause she is definitely "a whole lot of awesome."  I will put this on her desk ready for the first day of school :)  I am also using the latest Viva La Verve sketch!  Yes, Viva La Verve is back with monthly sketches!  Check it out over on the Viva La Verve blog.

Want to play along?  Head over to the Curtain Call blog for more inspiration and then join in the fun! Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. Oh, and here is my second card!  I sure do love making teacher cards!

With Appreciation ~ Make it Monday

Hello friends! It's the last stretch of school here in BC...one more week to go and this gal will be singing the summer lovin' tune!  It was easy to be inspired by apples again for this week's PTI Make it Monday challenge...create a Pantone colour chip card.  The Mega Mixed Messages set had lots of perfect fonts for this challenge.  I think this was the only stamp not inked yet in my set.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful weekend :)

Ever Thanks ~ Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

EEK!!  It's September!!  How did this happen?!  Sorry for all the screaming, but these are the frantic, desperate cries of a teacher a few days before school starts.  However, I was up for today's  Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge because teacher cards are one of my most favourite to make.  This time we’re inspired by this photo…

When our local scrapbook store closed in June (the owner moved out of town), I grabbed all the 12 x 12 sheets of this primary printing paper by Doodlebug Designs.  It will never go out of style and is the perfect background for any teacher card.  I had this apple die cut from a shaker card I made for my BIL's retirement and thought it would be perfect for this challenge.

The Way You Made Them Feel

neverforgetmaureenplut

Hello! As promised, I’m back with another card I made during my day in the studio on Monday.  I wanted a few more thank you cards for colleagues and have a hard time not using my Verve’s Teachers Count set when doing so.  I’m on another doily run and think I used them on most of the cards I made yesterday! LOL  Thanks for stopping by!
