Happy Birthday

Greetings friends!  I'm back today with my take on Laurie's Favourites Challenge.  This time it's to use a favourite colour combination.  I have so many so I decided on the one that was sitting on my desk for a few days. It started with aqua and orange and then I added some yellow for a pop!  Thanks for stopping by!

You are Pretty Amazing

Hi everyone!  I'm back today with a quick little tag for Laurie's Favourites challenge: make a tag!  Tags are so much fun because they are a small canvas and look great on gifts or cards.  This sweet office inspired tag will definitely be going to our school secretary at some point because she is pretty amazing!  The tag die is from PTI's Scalloped Tags die collection and the typewriter image along with that fabulous alphabet ribbon (really just strips of fabric) is OLD and from Mish Wooderson's store (sorry, no longer available).  I bought extra lengths of it when it was available.

Thanks for stopping by...looks like this may be the last PTI challenge as they are changing to a new name Ink to Paper...it's been a company close to my heart for ten years.  Hoping they will continue their fun challenges.  Change is good...it means we are still alive :)  Have a great week.

Congrats 2019

Hello friends!  I've been busy making some custom grad cards for my friend at work.  This layout has become one of my favourites for graduation cards...I'm not sure where I first saw this layout...perhaps from a PTI designer...it's been my goto  ever since 2014 (see the first card HERE).  I also use it for generic non custom grad cards as seen here below.

If you look at my Graduation label you'll see various versions of this layout as well.  I'm entering this favourite layout in Laurie's Favourites Challenge for Win it Wednesday.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful week!

Happy Birthday

Hi friends!  I'm posting a few cards today for some of my favourite challenges.  This one is for Laurie's Favourite Challenge...a card that is not A2 size.  My card is 4 x 5.5 and I must say it was Melissa Phillips that introduced me to this "close" A2 size, but that 1/4" less sure makes a difference.  Thanks for popping by!

Hooray, Way to Go!

Hello, friends!  I finally have an extra day to spend in the studio and just get inky.  Today's card is for two challenges...PTI's Win it Wednesday using my favourite colouring medium, pigment ink as water colour, and Reverse Confetti's April Challenge: Moms, Dads, and Grads.  I've used a mixture of PTI supplies (paper, tag die, and twine), Reverse Confetti supplies (heart frame die cut, word die cut, and sentiment stamp set), AND retired Verve (floral image).  Three of my favourite companies :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Wishes

Hello friends!  I'm back with my take on Laurie's Favourites challenge, choose your favourite style.  I must say that layered and a bit shabby/vintage is one of my favourites...but I love CAS and clean and layered as well.   However, I thought I'd share this one as I made it with my new newsprint tags I picked up last month.    Thanks for stopping by!

Hello (from eh to zed)

Hello!  I am excited to share today's card with you.  It was one of those "works of heart" cards.  I was fortunate to attend one of the most amazing teaching conferences in Chilliwack, BC, where I met and hung out with one of my teacher mentor/idols, Jen Jones, from Hello Literacy.  I have been a huge fan of Jen's for over 2 years so to meet her was incredible (like meeting Nicole, Dawn, Betsy, and the PTI DT in 2011).  I made this card to send to her, matching her brand of beautiful florals.  Of course, I had to add a nod to Canada inside and out.  I used 3 sets of florals so I'm entering this card into Laurie's Favourite challenge, pick a past Make it Monday challenge. I chose Dawn's Mixing Florals challenge.

I didn't know what colour of card base to use at first...here were my choices, pink or white.  I loved them both.  I went with the pink to be more "on brand" with Jen's Hello Literacy look.

Here I am with Jen after just meeting IRL.  I was SO excited.  I also got to spend some free time with her,  my LART who travelled with me, and the local coordinators.  It was so much fun!  If you are a teacher and love literacy, you really should follow her @hellojenjones on Instagram.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!  Spring has finally found BC.

I Love You, Mom

Hello again, friends!  It's Spring and that means my cards will start to focus on Mother's Day and graduations!  I made this card for Laurie's Favourite's challenge.  I have so many favourite colour combinations and after seeing Laurie's combo, I have ANOTHER one!  I also got to use my new Cover Up : Grid stamp...it adds the right little something, something to the background :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Wonderful Friend

Hello friends!  It's seems like I've been MIA and I guess I have been.  It's always a busy time before Spring Break. But I had a few hours to spend in the studio today so I created a card for Laurie's Favourites challenge.  I'm using one of my favourite sentiment sets, Penned Elegance.  The font goes so well with so many styles.  And of course, the lovely Gran's Garden goes with any sentiment :)  Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow with another card!

Happy Birthday

Hello, friends!  When I made my Congrats baby card inspired by Melissa's beautiful card, I had to make another one, but added more colour and changed the sentiment.  Here are the cards together.

I'm entering this card in Laurie's Win it Wednesday challenge using one of my favourite accessories, sequins!  Anything to add a bit of bling :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Congrats!

Greetings, friends!  It feels like I've been gone for AGES!  I was away last weekend with a group of friends so there was NO inky time at all.  However, today is Family Day in BC (and I think in most parts of Canada) so I got up early and headed into the studio.  This card is for Laurie's Fabulous Favourites challenge.  This week it's favourite card stock colour.  Okay, that is just a cruel challenge!  I love SO many different colours so I just decided to enter "sweet blush" so I could make this girly girly card CASEing Melissa's beautiful card HERE. My small PTI order came on Friday with the Delicates Dies...oh, my!  I love this die...perhaps one of the last items my dear Dawn created before she left {insert sad frown and broken heart here}.  Thanks for stopping by!

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello friends!  I'm away with a group of friends this weekend but wanted to enter Laurie's Win it Wednesday challenge so I headed down to the studio right after dinner.  Luckily I had a set of inked flowers ready to go from my favourite Gran's Garden.  I added a sentiment from Penned Elegance and layered the arrangement on my favourite Quatrefoil coverplate!  Thanks for visiting and for all your sweet comments!  Have a great weekend!
